If you have been looking for a 1976 FJ40 but don't want a show car, or the typical rust bucket. Just a clean, reliable cruiser that will draw attention wherever it goes. Then you have just laid eyes on your next vehicle. This clean example was left sitting in a field in 1989 with no top after serving faithful duty as a chase vehicle for oversize loads. It was rescued, and revived with little more than a carb rebuild, battery, and a set of plugs and wires. Once it was purring like a kitten it was then time to put some beauty back, all rust was removed, new panels fabricated, installed and painted. Since the resurrection it has served duty guarding a garage and driveway with a few small trips around town. This thing needs to get out and see the world. Unfortunately I do not have the time to give it the life it deserves. This is an amatuer restoration so don't expect a show car. It has it scratches and dings, but as you'll see in the pictures it is still very presentable and full of character. Let me just start with the problems from front to back so you know what you're getting into. Air cleaner is missing All weather stripping for top and doors needs replaced Flashers, license plate light and left signal not working No rear seats Guages are hit or miss Small exhaust leak from manifold Front doors are just there to keep weather out, the color does not match and they have rust on the bottom typical dings, scratches and dents for a driver ( look at pics for details there are alot ) Now for the good Odometer has 40k on it, it could be 440k for all I know but you can tell people its low mile and they will believe it All rust was removed and new panels were fabricated, welded in and painted ( all braces are significantly stronger than original) Heavy duty floormats Seats are in great shape New exhaust All factory toyota glass except for one window Entirely original drivetrain Runs great, no smoke or strange sounds, very reliable Front disc brakes Custom 17 gal. rear gas tank and relocated gas door So if you think you can give this Toyota the life of fun and adventure it deserves, please study the pictures, ask questions and bid now.
