1978 Pontiac Trans Am This TA has had three owners in the past 38 years. The original owner owned the car for over thirty years. It was sold to his brother-in-law and I purchased it from him and have enjoyed the car for the last five years. The car was ordered with all decals deleted. I had the decals put on because it just didn’t look right to me without them. The car is a base car ordered with the 400 Pontiac motor, auto transmission with AC, cruise, tilt wheel and deluxe interior. This is not a WS6 car but the way that it handles and performs, I can’t imagine that there can be much of a difference. This car has less than 58,000 original miles. It has always been garaged, never driven in the winter and not driven much in the last 20 years. It starts right up and drives out great no matter how long that it sits around. The bad thing about cars sitting around is things dry out and leak a little. The steering box and the rear seal on the transmission drip and could use some TLC. The “brother-in-law” cut the hood scoop and installed the open air shaker kit. I did find an original shaker that will be included; I just never got it painted to match. The car is all original with exception to the stereo, rear air shocks, valve coves, plug wires, rotor/cap and wheels and tires. I do have all of the original parts and will come with the car, with exception to the rear shocks and AM/FM stereo and of course original tires. I have also picked up a 7-inch wheel that I planned on using for a spare tire because I just don’t have much faith in the space saver spares that came in these cars. The AC compressor was replaced this summer and the system works great, I did not keep the original compressor because the casting was cracked. All of the original parts that I have and the shaker will be included with the car. This car is in great shape, runs great and there is no rust in this car anywhere. If you have been looking for one of these cars, take a close look. It is difficult to find an original unmolested car in this condition with low mileage.
