100% Original 1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe....2.3L automatic, ice-cold air, power steering/windows/brakes/locks/driver's seat, Premium Sound stereo, not a mark on it anywhere! The best part....FIVE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY ORIGINAL MILES. Not a mistake....5,580 original miles! (See photo of odo.) Everything works! Car smells like a brand-new car still, drives like a brand-new car! Looks brand new, also! I put new belts and hoses on when I got it, also new BFG radials on original 10 hole wheels (30 year old factory tires were not road-worthy). Car originally came from Missouri, 100% original and totally rust-free! It has NEVER BEEN HIT, is as straight as an arrow, and turns heads at car shows like you wouldn't believe, and when they see that odometer, their jaws drop! This car sat on the showroom floor of a Ford Dealership as a display for TEN YEARS, never titled. Second owner bought it, and got caught in a hail storm on the way home from a car show. Rather than deal with it, he sent the car to an auto broker in Iowa to sell it, which is where I bought it. All hail damage was professionally repaired by a high-end, classic car shop, and the car was stripped down, block sanded, and then repainted with the factory colors, BETTER THAN A FACTORY PAINT JOB. Car looks like the paint was poured from the bucket over it, IT'S ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Carpeting, seats, headliner, sun visors, dashboard, EVERYTHING ON IT is still in brand-new condition! Car starts, runs and drives as new, turbo spools with no effort at all, plenty of power from under the hood. (Speaking of under the hood....it has NEVER BEEN TOUCHED since leaving the factory. As you can see in the photos, this is how it came from 1986! I had been told by a serious collector acquaintance, to never clean/detail in there. However; I had to unplug and roll up the under-hood light, somehow it got loose and fell down onto the turbocharger, where it melted some of the insulation. I have not been able to find an NOS replacement for that - hopefully, you'll have better luck than I did.) This is a FABULOUS automobile. Health issues (meaning, very large medical bills) force me to sell it. I'm starting the bidding at $3000, with a Buy-It-Now of $12,500. These cars are going to appreciate more and more very soon - and this car, possibly being the absolute lowest mileage original Turbo Coupe in the USA, will be near or at the very top of that list, especially in its color combination of gorgeous strawberry red metallic and gray paint, with that awesome red interior. You'll notice in the photos I have a gray dash cover on it: this was done to cut glare from the sun coming off that shiny red dash pad....THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT DASH PAD, it's completely PRISTINE, as is the rest of the interior, front and rear. It can be removed easily, but be aware that glare can be blinding coming off of the dash pad, facing directly into the sun. I'd suggest leaving it on, seriously. Makes a huge difference. (Besides, it will protect that dash pad!) I put a new battery in the car this spring when I had the oil and filter changed, when I took it out the first day. I've put less than 1000 miles on it this year, haven't been able to get out very much. With the medical woes and rehab, I haven't been able to drive her much at all. Now, with these bills, I'm forced to sell it to pay expenses. Breaks my heart. Whoever gets this car, I hope you treasure it and care for it like I have. It's the nicest car I have ever owned in my life, and I dare say, you'll most likely feel the same way when you get in and drive it for the very first time. YES, those custom-embroidered Thunderbird mats come with the car. Dash cover, also. Never a door ding, no chips in the paint anywhere, no broken glass or bullseyes, cracks, etc. No tears or holes in the interior anywhere. All gauges work. Windows operate like new. This car is what you'd expect a 5500 mile car to be. NOTE: Car was never smoked in, lighter is unused. However, there is no ash tray in the console. This is how I got it. Since I don't smoke, either...I didn't need one.
