Beautiful and very original 1979 Triumph T140D Special. This low mileage (4137 original miles) Triumph is very original with the exception of the paint on the tank and side covers and the muffler. The tank and side covers were painted only because the clear coat on the tank became hazy. No dents ever and absolutly no rust. The muffler is a reproduction. This bike starts,runs, shifts, brakes, idles perfectly. All electrical componenets work.This is a fully sorted Triumph! Here is a list of all the new parts and service performed: New Hastings Piston Rings, Original Bore and Pistons, Valve Job performed by Beno Rodi (see American Pickers). The valve job was not really necessary but since the head was off I had it done. Brand New Amal Mark II carburators, Boyer Electronic Ignition, New Dunlop Tires, New Speedo Drive, Lithium Battery, New Ignition Coils. Included with the sale are the original handle bars and the original coil wires with Champion caps. This bike is a show class winner. Two first place finishes and a second place finish (to a John Player Norton with 300 miles), I believe that this is one of the best T140D Triumphs in the country. It has been in Colorado all it's life so is rust free (a very small area on the frame near the right passenger peg has a little surface rust where the paint chipped). I know that I will never find another unrestored Triumph in better condition but it is time for someone else to enjoy the beautiful bike. Please contact me if you have any questions.
