Vehicle Detail

In my family for several years, it is now time to downsize, so my 1953 Ford F100 is for sale. A Louisville, Kentucky-built truck, she is about as un-fussed with an example as you will find. A truck that began its life apparently as a parts delivery vehicle at a dealer in Prairie Du Rocher, IL, it remains in incredibly original condition. Wearing most of its factory-applied Sheridan Blue paint, it features its original headliner, door panels, heater, dash controls, and steering wheel with 50th anniversary horn button. Red seat covers are old replacements, with the floor mats and pedal pads newer, as the originals were past salvaging. All sheet metal with the exception of the two Dennis Carpenter running boards, the fuel tank (new) and the rear taillight housings (stainless) is original Ford, including the bed, which features its original wood floor in solid shape. All window glass is FoMoCo etched and I believe original with the exception of the left door glass, but it too is properly marked. Some edge de-lamination is evident on the original wind wings, and a light wiper mark is present on the windshield - minor, but there. All rubber on the truck's body appears original with the exception of the running board sealing strips- even the original factory rubber blanking plug for the optional left side mirror is intact. Cab corners are both nice with no rust, and no rust-through on the body with the exception of some flaking (common) at the corners of the engine compartment inner panels, hidden by the hood. Engine is the original 239 flathead V8 (truck series), and it appears to have never been out of the car, nor taken apart. It is bone stock, with the only parts replaced being the spark plugs (Autolite), wires (replica, FoMoCo marked), fuel pump, condenser and coil. Original radiator was professionally re-cored four years ago, and truck runs consistently cool, even here in the hot Texas summers. Original three speed on the column shifts quietly and effortlessly. Motor will smoke somewhat on start up, but runs quietly and smoothly. Truck runs out and tracks nicely on four near new Coker 6:00x16 wide whitewall tires on original Ford wheels. Starts easily, turns tightly, and stops nicely. Wipers, lights, horn and directional signals all work as intended, and stereo (not included in sale) shown in picture is mounted to existing holes under dash, with speakers in housings placed under seats - no holes drilled in the dash or in those original door panels! Doors are keyed to original brass keys (included) with ignition key and switch Ford NOS. Even the leather fob is mid 50's vintage and Ford-marked. Please keep in mid that this is not a perfect truck, but it is a great example of a milestone Ford truck survivor, as it was the first year of the fat fender body style and the last year a flathead V8 would be installed in an F100. There are numerous scratches, small dents, dings, minor surface rust and areas of thinning original paint acquired during it's 62 years, so please ask detailed questions and make requests for pics of any body panels you wish to see - I will respond promptly. Restore it or keep it an original survivor as I have done - it is a truck that turns heads wherever it is driven. Truck has a clean, clear Texas title in my name, and original 1953 Texas truck plates are not included.in the sale. Truck is sold as is, where is, and though I will be happy to assist, any shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Good luck bidding, and thanks for looking at my auction!
