1940 Cadillac Lasalle*NO RESERVE* This is a good looking and nearly complete, nearly drivable 1940 Cadillac LaSalle. The outside looks good, but not flawless, the inside shows deterioration of the carpet, door panels upholstery and headliner, but the items are all there. The steering wheel is crap, and will need full restoration. The windows are all there, in good shape, and all work. The doors close and latch very nicely with an authoritive “thunk”. The Good: *Good glass *So-so repaint job from the 80's and been garaged since *Chrome parts are all there, but are slightly to modernly pitted *Grill and trim have some damage, but are all there *Rebuilt Carburetor *Engine Turns and fires (but does not run) *New Battery *Very Little Rust *Hub caps are all there (just not in photos) The Bad: *Engine turns but does not start, two valves are stuck. This is not uncommon with the flat head V8, varnish builds up and sticks the valve in whatever position it was in. *the wiring is complete and all there, but the insulation is brittle (lets just say we do not leave the battery connected...) *Hub caps are all there, need refinish *Tires are quite old and need to be replaced*Hand brake works but foot brakes do not work. The brake system is complete, but it has been sitting for a long while. *Some surface rust on chrome but no serious rust on the bodywork. *Interior is quite tired, but mostly complete This thing will take some work to get road-worthy, but it is a good solid set of bones, trim and bits to get you going.
