I am selling my '96 Impala SS. It was bought new at Smith Chevy in Hammond, In. by my parents. I their son received car in 2007 with 1200 miles. Thats twelve hundred miles. All the mile are due to travelling the highway to get to my job. One owner car it is still registered in parents name. I have tried to honest in case you cannot make a personal inspection. I am trying to get out of debt that is why I am selling instead of keeping. The things I think are bad: There are 2 spots of rust one on the front edge of the hood and one inside the passenger side front door jam. Both are in the photos. None of the windows function as they should. They do not go down all the way or not at all. Fronts just broke in the last month and a half. I researched and it is cheap to fix but involves some effort to remove door panels and such. The external oil hose leaks so I add oil to engine to keep level up. Not gushing but you need to check level often. The digital odometer quit working. I saw it this past January 2015 and it showed 121.000 miles. The hood still opens with the cable from inside but hood does not pop up like designed. I'm thinking the cable is stretched. It also will need a tune up soon. By soon I mean before the end of the year. That is my opinion. The car starts on first crank and does not smoke or miss. The rears brakes pads rotors and brackets are new. The front rotors are still the factory installed units with only one cut on them. No grinding going on now, but does have a pulsation. The exhaust pipes and mufflers were put on within the last year. The tires are good but could probably use two new fronts soon. No cutting at all on anything inside. All wiring in its factory location. The entire car has not been monkeyed with. No rips or tears on the original leather seats. Carpet is not worn but does have stains. Factory snap on mats are here but dirty. One wheel has just a little rash the rest are clean. The car has never been in an accident. The paint is factory original. The paint is coming off the drivers side door handles but the passenger side handles are fine. Its really straight down the sides no huge dings from the parking lot. Engine has had an oil change every 3000 - 4500 miles when the odo worked. Every 3 - 4 months when it stopped lighting up. The air conditioning works as does the heat and defrost. The cd functions when it is not dirty. I drive just about everyday and is all plated and legal. The check engine light is on due to the needed tune up. I need a depot of $500.00 right after auction is over. Balance with paypal or cash. No warranty on this vehicle.
