Vehicle Detail

Here is a rare find! One family owned – 2002 Lexus IS300 w/ 97k miles. This car runs flawlessly. Motor is whisper quiet, and is very sporty with rear wheel drive and 225hp. These cars are notoriously reliable, and getting harder to find in this condition! There are no known mechanical issues with the vehicle. I've driven the car a lot, and it is a great running car. No leaks, knocks, or smoke. The car was purchased by my father-in-law brand new. It was his summer-time commuter car and was always garaged when not in use. He’s also a responsible professional, so this car was never abused. In 2014 he decided to put it up for sale to fund another vehicle and it so happened I needed a new car at that time, so I purchased this one, because I know he cared for it very well. My wife and I currently own it, and since we live in Boston and commute by subway, the car has not seen much use. We use it to occasionally visit family out of town and take the occasional trip to Target. My wife’s job is transferring her to New York City, so despite my love for this car, we need to rid ourselves of a vehicle.Cosmetically there is some normal wear for a 12 year old vehicle with 100k miles. I will try to cover them here. However, keep in mind there may be very minor things not listed (that I’m not aware of). If you win auction and try to negotiate in person, I will kindly tell you to have a nice day. I’ve purchased and sold enough cars to know how troublesome some people can be and I honestly don’t have the time for it. The front bumper and hood have some highway rock chips. I have some touchup paint I’ll pass on with the sale. The vehicle was in an accident and had bumper damage. This was repaired, however, the bumper has developed a crack (see pictures). There is a very minor dent on the right side, near the front wheel (see pictures). The wheels do have curb marks on them. I have tried to be very transparent. Overall, this is a beautiful car, that was obviously maintained and cared for by its original owner. I am confidant this will make someone a great car for many years to come! The car might not drive exactly like a brand new car (not as tight and as smooth), but this is normal. The reason I’m being do redundant is because I’ve seen people expect used Hyundais to drive like brand new BMW’s. But please keep in mind this car his some minor cosmetic defects, and please reflect this in your bidding amount. As for the only issue that needs addressing. The brake rotors are warped (brake and tires were recently done, but I guess they rotors have warped slightly since then. When you stop from a high speed, the steering wheel tends to shake a bit. Since this started happening, I noticed the ABS, VSC, TRAC, and BRAKE light come on usually after driving the car for a few hours. I asked my friend (who’s a Lexus Tech) and he mentioned the shaking of the front end when braking messes with the sensors and causes the lights to trip. This is what I was told, but isn’t being advertised as a diagnostic. When I restart the car, the lights are off. I’m selling the car mentioneing this issue and what I was told. The car was not physically diagnosed nor can I stand behind his advice. However, there is NO check engine light on nor have I ever seen it on. I had the 90k service done at 92,092 by the dealer. This includes all oil and fluid changes, including the costly timing belt and water pump. This is all done and you don’t have to worry about it. It has newish Goodyear tires and I had the muffler replaced 4 months ago (one of the brackets gave and the muffler hit the ground). I replaced it to prevent any future failures. The photos were taken after a car wash. I will be occasionally using this car until I sell it, so it may not look this clean upon pickup. Also, please know I am not a dealer and will be using this car. I did my best to try to clean it out, but there may have been spots I missed. A lot of people I know that own an IS abuse it terribly. They’re also not competent and don’t do proper maintenance. Here’s your chance to own one that was babied and owned by a bunch of Professionals, not some creep living and selling cars out of a battered trailer in a sketchy part of town. On Aug-06-15 at 17:29:31 PDT, seller added the following information: To be a little more transparent: as I mentioned, I will be using the vehicle when vehicle is up for sale. Actual mileage may vary, within 200 miles or so.On Aug-14-15 at 09:12:09 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE READ:::!!!::: Someone just messaged me and asked a question, and I just noticed it. The photo of the right side of the vehicle shows the front fender slightly darker than the rest of the car. This is a shadow from taking the picture (if you look at the very front of the fender, it gets bright again. So it is just a shadow in the photo and does not look like that in person!!
