I bought it with about 92,000 miles, it was extremely clean and well maintained. I changed the fluids, had a new timing belt installed, and had new brakes. I drove it daily and had no mechanical issues with it. Last fall, I put new tires and shocks on it. I had intended to drive it for at least 4-5 more years. I previously had a 1993 Trooper, that I drove 10 years and put over 200,000 miles on. These trucks are nearly indestructible, as long as you keep an eye on the oil level. Anyway, I had an incident where a large truck rolled back into it, crunching the hood and bending the radiator core support. Due to the age of the the Trooper, and the fact that there were no liens on it, the insurance paid me for my loss. I opted to take a lesser amount, but keep the truck. It still ran and drove fine, the damage mainly cosmetic. (The core support could be bent back with hydraulic tools.) Fast forward 3 months..I was still driving it everyday, when I was involved in a multi car accident. I swerved to avoid a crash in my lane ahead, and side swiped a vehicle to my right, which pushed me into one of the disabled vehicles ahead. My air bags did not deploy, and the damage was now confined to the left and right front fenders and drivers side door. The vehicle still runs, I drove it home, parked it and transferred the plates to a used car I bought. I had intended to repair it, but just don't have the time or inclination. I bought some of the replacement parts (hood, drivers door, drivers side fender, 2 front turn signal lamps) which I will include. I just need it out of my driveway now. It must go! I have a low reserve! THE TIRES ALONE ARE WORTH MORE THAN MY RESERVE!
