I bought the Firebird in 1985 new from a Pontiac dealer. Since I'm now retired and only receive a small monthly income from Social Security, I can't afford to maintain the car anymore. I took the car over to a dealer and asked him how much I should sell the Firebird for in its present condition. He told me to sell "as is" for 800 to 1,000 dollars. Since the dealer suggested a price between 800 to 1,000 dollars, I have decided to put the best offer option back on the listing. I'll consider offers in that range but might not accept any of them. I'm not under any pressure to sell the car and could just keep driving it until it has a breakdown. However, since I'm broke and can't afford to spend any money on repairs I would have to junk it. I have been driving the car for half my life and would hate to see it end up in a junkyard crusher. I think a buyer who lived in the area and could come over to look at the car and then offer me 1,000 dollars cash on the spot would be the best buyer for me. We could simply go over to the auto tag place that's open until 8 p.m. to complete the sale. Then the buyer could get into the car and drive it back to his home.
