Very very rare 1964 Mustang Convertible. Factory Hi Performance 289 cubic Inches D Code with 4 barrel carburetor.Full Pony interior with simply the best color combination you can find ! Stunning !This the very first year of production for Mustangs.I bought the car from the1st owner California car with 90 000 original miles and original black plates.Car sat in a garage for 30 years explaining low miles and is completely original.Older and nice restoration.An excellent and beautiful driver not a 100 points concourse car not being detailed underneath but a very beautiful car.Original title, old square California pink slip from the 1970’s.Beautiful red paint done few years ago but still very very nice. Has just a very light scratch on the trunk you only see at a certain angle, could be buffed too.Perfect and very straight body no bondo.Doors close real tight with perfect gaps.Engine is real strong, no blow by, or noise, no knocking or ticking of any kind.Automatic Transmission. It appears originally the car came with a 4 speed manual and was converted later on to automatic transmission.Car runs and drives really well.GT ratio steering box so no need for Power Steering.Chrome bumpers are nice. The little chrome piece mad of zamac surrounding back top is slightly pitted.Original floor pans and trunk with zero rust. All panels are Ford original. No China replacement aftermarket panels. IMPORTANT: It makes a huge difference when a Mustang still has its original floors. Many car people don't have a clue. They don't understand that a Mustang is not a Pontiac Gto. It is a unibody car and quite a fragile one considering the engine torque to bear with a V8. Being an engineer who later worked for Ferrari France I know that once you cut out the body or replace major floor sections or major body structural sections, the car is screwed up period. The body will twist and collapse completely screwing the car's geometry. That's why many fully ground up / cut up restored cars drive like crap, kind of sideways. That kind of rewelding work is always poorly executed on jack stands. Unless it is done professionally on a "Marbre" the car is thrashed !! Beautiful Red and White Full Pony Interior. Seats and panels are in excellent condition.Everything works except the horn.Rare Power Top.Top was new but someone vandalized it got a 6” cut which has been fixed. 5 feet away you can really see unless you get real close.I didn’t think it was worthy to put a new top but you could if you want it perfect. Top has folding glass window.I got brand new bumper guards front and back cause the original ones got slight surface rust. Still in the box.
