I am selling our 1977 For Maverick coupe. This is a running, driving, project car. Newer 302 engine, with 351 heads, 4 bbl Edelbrock carburetor. New aluminum radiator with electric fan. Entire front end is newer, with all new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks ( front and rear). Leaf spring bushings replaced as well. Rims are Magnum 500's. Two of them are original , two are aftermarket. Oil and temp gauges were added and work perfectly. Tires are Coopers and have 85% tread life on them. Seats were reupholstered to match paint scheme. New heater core . New blower fan motor. Carpet in decent shape. Interior plastic parts were re-dyed black ( originally green), and need to be touched up, including steering wheel. Single exhaust was removed, and replaced with duals exhaust with Flowmasters ( sounds mean). So you may ask yourself why would we want to sell this car after all the work we did? This car will not pass California smog. With the new Star Smog tests, we fail. It has been sitting in the car port since 2012, because it cannot pass the Smog test. So California bidders beware of this fact. I have had it on a Non Op registration due to this fact. Tags expired 5/2012. I start it and drive it around the block every two to three weeks, so it is not just sitting. This car is fun, fast, and gets attention. With some paint repairs or new paint job , headliner and tuning, this would make a great classic to drive around. I will have a reserve, because if I don't get solid bidding, I will part it out to recover all the money that went into the engine, suspension , rims and tires, etc. I do reserve the right to end this auction early. Odometer says 77335.5, this is not the real mileage. I replaced the odometer with a junk yard replacement, the actual mileage is closer to 132,000. Just so you know.
