Operation and Performance: Renew your enchanted love affair with the Range Rover Classic! Before I get into anything else, I must being by stressing how this vehicle inspires total exhilaration. With years as a technician and restorative artist gone by in a blur, I have seen and done it all with Range Rover Classics. This fine example has made me feel like I have just experienced the Range Rover magic for the first time. The joy that comes from ownership of a vehicle such as this nearly indescribable as it appeals to multiple senses simultaneously. Range Rover Designer Charles Spencer King once quipped that a Range Rover was “…more fun than money in the bank!” I think in this instance, CSK’s words would be greatly understated… Now, onto it! Enter on command with perfectly working Factory Remote Central-Locking; nearly a memory with surviving Range Rover Classics. Fire her right up and the fully serviced 4.2L V8 roars to life. With just a slight step on the accelerator you are off in a flash. This truck surges onto the motorways with TOTAL CONFIDENCE and has no hesitation, stumbles, overheating issues, or motorway meanderings of any kind. Remember, this vehicle lead caravans of BMW and Jaguar 4.4L Range Rovers and needed to hold its own! The transmission is velveteen smooth with no virtually no shift detection!!! She has been tested even this last week with record high temperatures in LA. AC blasting, bumper to bumper traffic. NO overheating, drive-train leaks, or performance issues from this truck. All power options work as they should: memory seats, memory mirrors, windows, lights, sunroof, safety MFCU’s, and all. All lamps and lenses are smoked in Ash-Grey and enhance the look of this vehicle. The overhauled AC works brilliantly and the heat is perfect without any offending smells inside the cabin. That said, this is also A NON SMOKER VEHICLE and with its recent upholstery service and professional detail, she still smells like a new car. I thoroughly encourage you – perhaps when no one is looking – to smell the leather. It still smells like new leather and is showroom soft. This vehicle is a blast to drive for many reasons. It performs as you would expect from a vehicle of this caliber and all of the distinctive features of this premier LWB model are in excellent condition. All of these amazing details are rounded out with a crystal clear, upgraded Factory ADS audio system. You won’t believe how incredible the concert like acoustics are in this vehicle. No speaker or sub-woofer rattle. Just clear, powerful sound at any speed. The original Range Rover head unit was replaced with a Pioneer USB/iPhone unit to cope with the rigors of modern travel, but the OEM head unit and 6-Disk changer still come with the vehicle and work perfect, should you decide to restore the OEM system! Aesthetics, Chassis & Coachwork: She is one of a kind – and anyone who sees it, knows it. Driving through Beverly Hills this July 4th morning, when all of the world’s best classics come out for their annual run around town, this vehicle commanded envious stares and even a few cheers from other vintage motor enthusiasts. This truck has that power. The decision to refinish this astonishing vehicle in Deep Bronze Green is crystal clear to me. It is a fantastic color – one of Land Rover’s first and only offerings – and within it, has the tonal qualities of some of the most celebrated Rover Greens that followed: In full sun, the military inspired olive of Coniston Green makes its appearance and as lighting shifts from dawn to dusk, the rich pine forest hues of Eastnor Green dance with the rolling hill and dale blues of Brooklands Green. The Sahara Sand finish of the roof is not only distinctive, but functional – it helps to keep the cabin much cooler when ambient temperatures soar. Personal touches regarding the smoked indicator lenses and lighting upgrades make it truly look the business. Timeless. Formidable. Understated. Yet, all of this served a purpose to enhance drivability and certainly, with the improved H4 headlights and Rigid LED spot lights, you can light up any night trail with total visibility. Once inside, the decadent Dark Sable Black comes to life. It is nearly impossible to keep a black interior looking that nice – the devotion here was near fanatical. Admittedly, the seats – both front and rear – are as plush and comfortable as they were when new. Religiously treated with factory Connelly leather care, they are a testament to the lasting qualities of 1st class materials properly cared for. The leather seating surfaces themselves resemble the wear of a broken in baseball glove. Loved, cared for, well enjoyed. All bolsters, seating surfaces, and arm rests are intact. The carpets are soft and clean, and the Range Rover All-Weather LWB floor mats are no doubt responsible! They too are in great condition. There are no panel rattles, clunks, bangs, or noises. You simply sail along in vaulted British luxury as intended. Note the highlighted pictures of the door sills, upper tailgate corner, arches and jambs. These are all critical areas for corrosion on the Range Rover Classics and they are present here in near perfect condition. The vehicle is proudly drip free and you should consider it nice driveway safe! The exceptional paint is highly reflective, liquid smooth and as pictured, polishes up great with minimal effort. She is overall, in excellent condition, with any blemish being entirely forgivable in my opinion. To recap, this is a straight, rot free, clean and comfortable Range Rover that I would be otherwise proud to own. The 1993 Model Year: This is a historic milestone for the Marque. The company name of “Range Rover of North America” became “Land Rover of North America” and any serious collector has an example from this moment in history. 1993 is when the LWB model was first introduced, along with perhaps the Range Rover’s most lasting innovation: Air Suspension. This particular example is a rarity even within that year. It began its life in Montpellier Red. A color that was not issued until 1994. The original owner had some serious weight to make that happen – the under bonnet bulkhead and inner wings still display the only remnants of this history. For practical reasons, the EAS was coil converted here – and retains the most enjoyed brand name in suspension conversions for Land Rover. Everything that would be “modern” in the Range Rover line was first introduced here and the finest vehicles from that time are a proud representative of that moment. Lastly, a wonderful finish to this already incredible vehicle is the collector worthy bits that come with the vehicle: The OEM RR branded radio, the expedition rack, the COMPLETE owner’s manual with all original literature as well as the show room 1993 only brochure. Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me: Please read my outstanding feedback from folks like you! No one puts a Land Rover together better than me, PERIOD. It’s the vehicle I drive, and the vehicle I RACE. Nearly two decades of Rover ownership and service are poured into every Rover that I see into new hands. All too common are sales from the brokerage houses where a vehicle will receive a detail service and nothing else. Leaving maintenance work for the pleasure of the new owner; often time’s immediately following reception of the vehicle. Beware of any vintage Rover that does not share the same service points as the ones I advertise with my trucks. They are ESSENTIAL for long term reliability and any Rover without these services are ticking time bombs. I am not a Land Rover tech that drives home in a Honda Civic. I come from a long line of British Car technicians and Live, Breathe and even RACE the green oval. I understand ALL of your concerns and needs and do my best to ensure that you will be happy based on a simple, yet powerful concept: DOES THIS VEHICLE MAKE ME HAPPY? WOULD I PUT MY WIFE AND BABY IN IT? WOULD I LOVE TO HAVE IT? The answer is always yes. And that’s when I know they are ready. I care. I know you do, too. Vehicles that I see off not only have domestic endpoints, they go to the farthest reaches of the planet. They have gone to Europe, Asia, The South Pacific, Central America and currently, a client recently purchased a trail-ready 88 RRC and is en route to Tierra Del Fuego after I picked him up in the vehicle at LAX when he flew in to receive it! Whilst every effort has been made to reverse the clock in terms of cleanliness, you will still see the evidence of off road green laning – dust, debris, scratches and the like – par for the course of the underside of an overland Rover.
