Vehicle Detail
You will not want to drive this car until you get the engine work done. If you do the result would likely be more damage and more costly repair. This vehicle had a slight head gasket leak. When I started the SUV to add K-Seal to seal it up, the compression on the bad cylinder with coolant was too much and caused a rod knock to start. I ran the engine for 30 minutes, and the head gasket seems to have sealed – no more white smoke or coolant smell, but now has a rod knock requiring mechanical attention which I am not technically able to give. You may be able to access and fix this issue by dropping the oil pan if the sound is from a rod bearing. If you are mechanically inclined with engine work, you should get more life from this vehicle. Rear heater not working, but the front heater and all A/C are working fine. Someone reminded me that the cruise-control buttons are missing from the steering wheel. Cruise still works though. The car is 17 years old so there are things which are not perfect! Please ask questions before you bid. I don't want the bidding process to fail because you bid and then don't want the vehicle. You must arrange for pickup/shipping. Seller will not coordinate, but will fully cooperate.I purchased this vehicle in 1999 with 36,000 miles and it now has 277,000. I was hoping to keep driving it, but fixing this issue would cost me more than I am willing to invest, since I cannot do the work myself. All Michelin P265/70R17 tires, the rear (LTX MS2) have great tread remaining (only 12,000 miles on them). New Battery and Starter installed in last 6 months. Car passed NJ State inspection within the last year.
