Here we have a nice 1961 BMW R69S in good shape. This bike features its original Hydraulic steering damper in perfect working order - I replaced the bushing in the pivot mechanism - so it works correctly. Correct carbs and original optional Weinmann Aluminum rims. A new 6v battery was installed. The tires are in great shape and the bike runs and rides well. I just finished replacing the pistons with new and performing a complete valve job. I also dropped the oil pan and cleaned it out (no debris found) and installed a new pan gasket. All the fluids have been replaced and a new Karcoma petcock was installed with new fuel lines. The ignition / magneto was set to the correct adjustments and starting is quick and easy. A new hi/lo beam and horn harness was installed and all the electrics work as they should. This example is a great find for the BMW collector or fan that enjoys an authentic machine that has not been restored. The original 6v electrical system works perfectly. The bike comes with a clear title. Surface rust is present on some of the chrome, and some of the hardware has seen better days, and I would call the paint work "fair" - after completing the top end rebuild, it feels like the crank could use servicing down the road. With that in mind, I will offer a buy it now price that includes a slinger service and crank rebuild! So - If you choose the buy it now option you will have a freshly rebuilt motor with new pistons, gaskets, seals, bearings, valves and guides, slingers and a fresh crank! I am confident that it will run well for a good while as it is, but it will need a crank service before too long.
