Vehicle Detail

1979 Jeep CJ 7 Golden Eagle. Yes it’s a real Golden Eagle with a very well documented one owner history showing only 72,000 correct miles. It has the 304 V8 with the rare four speed transmission and no rust EVER! Probably the best color combination available, black on tan Levi interior with tan top. This is one weird and super cool Golden Eagle. Radio delete with power steering, rear locker, sway bar, power DISC brakes, four speed, freewheeling hubs and more! I have so many more photos than eBay gave me room to post, message me for tons more photos. It’s a emotional day for me to sell this Jeep. I finally have the Jeep I have always wanted and life forces sale. I have owned many Jeeps over the years from new JK’s, TJ’s, WJ’s, XJ’s and a few Grand Wagoneer’s but this to me was the Holy Grail of the Jeeps if you will. My first CJ was fiberglass after giving up on ever finding one not full of rust and body filler I could afford. It was a CJ5 with the old 258 and a 3 speed. Was a bunch of fun but quite slow and even though I am only 5’ 8” I could barely fit comfortably, in fact my knees hit the dash board. My next CJ was a 7 all metal with the 258. That was a nice Jeep, that until I found this one I always complained I should have never sold. It was a little under powered on the mountains where I live but I never really minded and they were both manual steering and brakes which really was the pits. A good friend of mine found this one for me knowing I am a Jeep fan he called me right away when he seen it. It was bad timing, but I had to have it. It was one of his neighbors second cars and he spotted her parking it in her front yard with a for sale sign and called me right away. His neighbor (Pam) just happened to be the original owner of this awesome Jeep. At 75 years old a knee surgery has kept her from being able to row the four speed tranny anymore. Pam has a emotional attachment to this Jeep and was hoping to sell it out of town in hopes she would never see it again. I assured her it was going to a good home. She used it just to go to her beach house in the fall and winter months. Pam is such a cool lady, that I could so hang out and go have a beer with. Perhaps kind of manly by an outsiders point of view. Her other vehicles consist of a 3/4 ton Cummins Dodge truck and two Harley Davidson’s. She retired from Westinghouse (as a engineer) here outside of Pittsburgh. Now if any of you reading this now know any engineers, the condition and documentation of this Jeep you will already understand. I swear every piece of paper since new I have from the original buyers order, to window sticker and even the dang thank you letter from Northview Motors for her purchase. I was sure to make copies of the original title and keep all the documents she gave me. It’s truly overwhelming but super cool to read through. See photos. She had planned on towing her and her significant others bike’s with the CJ so she did her research and had a Crane Cam, headers, dual exhaust and a 600 AFB four barrel put on for more power. This Jeep is WAY over powered! It’s a border line handful. She never ended up using it to tow her bike’s that is where the overkill diesel truck came in. It has a nice lumpy idle, but is quite quiet. She wanted it quiet and has huge mufflers installed when the duals were put on. It would sound so good without these huge mufflers. Side pipes were going to be my first and only thing I would ever do to this Jeep. Pam had the dealer install a tool box under the hood that has a lock to carry all her tools. Most of all the 70,000 miles came from driving to and from the Outer Banks. She also had a radio and good speakers installed as well as a six disc changer. Even with the top off this stereo sounds great, especially for as old as it has to be. She ditched the uncomfortable front seats for tall back reclining Best Top seats. Although nice seats, I wish she kept the original front Levi seats, she kept absolutely every damn thing else… oh those and the factory gold wheels. She didn’t like either and thought nothing of tossing both but kept the catalytic converter. She also had a custom box made not only to house the disc changer but a on board air compressor to air up tires after airing them down on the beach as well as a few tow straps to free stuck vehicles on the beach. She made it known, she had never been stuck. In this locking, exact color match material l tan box is all kinds of things for long distance travels… Oil, brake fluid, hoses, belts, duct tape, wax, gloves, old funnels, see photos….this things just to cool and can you see now why this is killing me. She had the fading paint re sprayed in recent years and NOS decals also re applied and still looks great with few minor, un noticeable blemishes. Also about a year ago she decided to replace the aging top and went black to change it up. Top is like new and in great shape. Also comes with a bikini top that I just took out of the box for the first time last week. You will get the chrome push bumper, side tubes and rear bumper shown in the photos of when I first picked the Jeep up from Pam. Little to 70’s for my taste, oh yea and a grill screen. Anal retentive best way to describe Pam. I still have the factory Catalytic converter even for the CJ and extra of absolutely every wear item all Mopar or American Motor NOS parts. I have several new headlights, cap, points, rotors, clutch, pressure plate, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, power steering pump, I can go on and on….You just can’t make this stuff up!! All new in box, all comes with the Jeep. Get this I even have a brand new Golden Eagle NOS set…complete set of decals, just in case ever repaint the Jeep one day. I would think these NOS parts are worth a small fortune and I hate to separate them from the Jeep. I will have another CJ one day once we sell this house and get these kids through college and I am sure I will need many of these parts. Such as a brand new never used with all hardware spare tire mount! The last two CJ’s I had, they were long gone. No spare. Not sure why, or why people get rid of them but the factory swing away mount is pretty cool. My happy medium… it all goes with the BUY IT NOW price. On top of Jeep’s, I own two classic Dodge Charger’s that have always been in the family and I could never sell. I took my Father to the Butler Jeep show last weekend in the CJ, it’s first show that I ever attended with it. I knew it was a special Jeep but I just couldn’t get over the constant questions, pictures and attention that it drew. I said to my Dad, now I know what it’s like to take a HEMI Daytona or the like to a big Chrysler show, it was crazy and makes it that much harder to pass it on. I drove the CJ about a hour and a half each way to and from the show and sat for about two hours idling in the parade they had with absolutely no problems. Truly runs and drives like new. The CJ is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. I am going to run the auction with a Buy It Now option for quick sale and a very low reserve. That means DO NOT bid unless you have the funds readily available, the permission, a sick family member, or you do not live in the U.S. I hate to have to say that, but I have sold a few cars on Ebay over the years and the excuses never seem to amaze me. I have the Jeep for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. You are most welcome to come inspect the Jeep prior to auctions end. Call me anytime with any questions on my cell, 412-974-6789, Travis. $500 NON REFUDABLE deposit due at auctions end. On Jun-24-15 at 06:09:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I will be leaving for my annual trip to the Chrysler show in Carlisle, PA on July 8th and wont be back until Sunday the 12th late day. We have a car in one of Carlisle's invitational displays and can't leave until 5 Sunday, it will be about 8 PM until we get home. Just wanted to make bidders aware for any shipping arrangements or pick up.
