Selling my pride and joy, but with a 3rd child on the way, its time to part ways. THIS IS THE SOUGHT OUT YEAR YOU WANT! STOCK FORGED BOTTOM, LEGENDARY 708 CAM SOUNDS AMAZING AT IDLE, THIS IS TRULY THE YEAR THEY GOT IT RIGHT!!!! This 1998 Dodge Viper GTS was purchased roughly 5 years ago and had 24,xxx miles. Current mileage is 30,xxx which means in 5 years it was rarely driven and always parked in the garage. So lets get right into this amazing Viper. It was purchased from a private owner in San Diego who took impeccable care of it, then driven to its current home in the Bay Area. There's literally a huge binder with maintenance that has been documented while the previous owner owned it. The color is Silver with charcoal colored rally stripes. The interior is all black and clean. When purchased from its previous owner, it was completely stock. Now lets get on to the list of modifications the car has under gone. Exterior Car color is the factory silver with charcoal colored rally strips. A set of Forged 360 three piece concave wheels were then added. 20x10 in front, 20x13.5 rear, with Nitto Tires all the way around. The rear tire is a 355/25/20, wide enough that my kid can sit inside of it. Wheels alone were $6,500, not including the Nitto tires. The factory wheels and tires will go to the winning buyer as well. Headlights have an HID conversion, they are brighter than factory so you can actually see where your going at night. InteriorThe interior is all black. Leather Seats are in great shape, they show little signs of wear and tear. EVERYTHING works, the power windows, power door locks, the lumbar support on the seats, the gas/brake pedal adjuster etc. The factory radio was removed and upgraded to a new pioneer mixtrack unit that supports Bluetooth hands free phone support, streams music directly from your phone, etc. The factory speakers were also upgraded then a new digital Alpine amplifier was installed, making the sound system in this car sound crisp and clear, no matter what kind of music you are listening to. The factory radio, speakers and amplifier were all retained and will go with the car. A dual gauge pillar pod was added for the twin turbo system. The first is an AEM Tru-boost, boost controller, that shows you current vacuum pressure and allows you to change how much boost you want to run on the fly. The second gauge is an AEM wide band air flow ratio gauge, which is monitoring the air/fuel mixture while you drive. Also installed was a turbo timer, which allows the car to continue to idle after you have turned the car off, to safely let the turbos cool down. EngineThe engine itself, is 100 percent stock, from the heads, cam, block, down to the oil pan. Again the 1998 viper GTS is one of the only years to have a forged bottom end come from the factory. Now about the turbo system and its components. This is a 100 percent 1 off kit, custom made specifically for this viper. What does that mean? It means you don't end up some mass produced kit were things do not line up correctly etc. No money was spared when it came to buying parts and building this twin turbo kit. The turbos are COMP 68mm, .96 A/R exhaust housing so there is basically no turbo lag. The wastegates are Precision 48mm. The blowoff valves are Tial 50mm. The intercooler is a front mount air to air custom made for this viper. The complete "hot" side of the turbo kit is completely made out of stainless steel, which was all hand tig welded. The "cold" side of the turbo kit is completely made out of aluminum, again all hand tig welded. All silicone couplings are thick ply with stainless steel T-Clamps. Because the turbos are mounted low on this kit, a custom oil return kit with one way check valves was designed to remove the oil from the turbos and pump them back up to the valve covers, all lines are made out of steel braid with AN fittings. 2 breather tanks were then installed to remove crankcase pressure from each valve cover, again all steel braid with AN fittings. The fog lights were removed to house a custom oil cooler with fan to keep oil temps low on one side, the other side houses the "Devils Own" methanol injection pump system. Injector Dynamic 1000cc injectors were then installed. RSI triple in-tank fuel pump hanger was then installed with two Walbro fuel pumps. -8 steel braided line runs from the gas tank all the way up to the RSI chrome anodized fuel rails, then to an AEM adjustable fuel pressure regulator with liquid filled gauge which then runs back to the gas tank, all steel braided lines with AN fittings. New "Screamin Demon" coil packs were then installed along with MSD cut to fit spark plug wires. An AEM complete plug and play engine management system with wideband feature was then installed to handle the tuning aspect of the engine. Also installed was a "Hurst" short throw shifter to make shifts quick and firm. A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY WAS SPENT ON MATERIALS AND LABOR. THIS KIT WAS ALSO DESIGNED SO THAT AT ANY MOMENT, IF YOU SO CHOOSE IT CAN BE REMOVED AND THE FACTORY SYSTEM CAN BE RE-INSTALLED. ALL FACTORY PARTS WERE KEPT AND WILL GO WITH CAR. All said and done, the viper was originally purchased for 36k from the previous owner. What you are bidding on now is truly a one of a kind viper with roughly another 25k invested. The great thing about this viper is, if you wanted to go back to a completely from the factory Gen 2 Viper, YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN. I can honestly say, its one of the best looking vipers on the market. It gets looks and thumbs up from EVERYONE, even police officers. The car is being sold AS-IS, no warranty. Winning bidder will get all of the stock parts that were removed during the build process of this viper.
