Vehicle Detail
Here is an old Ford that was converted into a tractor some time ago. I purchased it from the builders grandson with intentions of parting it out but figure maybe someone would want the whole thing. I beleive the motor is from 39-41 or so and was told it was overhauled at the time of the build. It turns over beautifully with the battery but does not have spark. Ignition system components would need to be gone through to start it. I removed the spark plugs and took compression readings and taped the results on the heads by each hole that you can see in the pics. Readings were taken with dry motor. The distributor has been changed to 12 volt. I was told it was last started 5 years ago. I think with a little work this motor should run and run good. Stamped on one head is 81A- 6050. The tranny is a heavy duty 4 speed, I have no idea what the rear end is out of. The car rolls and steers fine. Tires hold air but they are shot. The front wheels are 20 inch spoke and appear to be in good shape. The grill shell has no rot and is uncut with one minor ding shown in photos. The insert is missing 2 bars and some have slight bends hear and there. It looks like the bars wouldnt be that hard to make or replace. The chrome emblem on top is unbroken with light pitting. The radiator appears to be in great shape. The cowl has been cut on one side to accomidate the barrel that was once the fuel tank. The firewall is uncut and appears to be in good shape. The dash would be useable with some work. All in all there are lots of good parts here for the rodder or restorer or fix it up and run it as-is. Please ask questions if you need to know anything more. If you would like to speak directly let me know and I will provide my number. I can help load.
