Vehicle Detail
Late 1923 Model T Roadster for sale. The chassis is restored to show quality, including rebuilt front & rear axles, engine, transmission, and steering column. This car was restored to be a tour car, but with a high attention to detail on the chassis. The other parts of the car are presentable; the fenders and body have dents and scratches, and the seat upholstery has seen use. This is my personal vehicle that wasn’t intended to be sold, so no expense was spared for the restoration completed so far. I strive for correct components, and in this case, many of the original prints were referenced to find the correct part for a November ’23 car. The champion X spark plugs were borrowed and will not come with the car. I have more photos of the car that I can email. Please contact me thru ebay; I'm not allowed to post a link here. Some highlights: Engine / Transmission: Re-charged magnets, re-wound field coil, New Transmission Brake Drum with Lug Shoes, Aluminum Pistons, SS Valves, Adjustable Lifters, and Lightweight re-babbitted rods. Nice Rebuild, All exterior components blasted & painted with epoxy primer. Starts & Runs on Mag. Crank Case, Block, timing cover, and Hogs Head are painted inside with Gyptal. New wooden band liners. Front Axle: All new bushings, shackles, kingpins, tie rod bolts, & steering ball. Axle, Tie Rod, & drag link are powder coated. All other parts are DuPont Imron or Centari. Rear Axle: New axle shafts (4140) of proper length (not 1/16” longer). New Ring & Pinion set. Taper Roller bearing spool. All good Hyatt bearings. New sleeves. Neoprene seals. All insides (including tubes) coated with Gyptal. Wheels: All new spokes, Hubs, and Bearings. Nice rims, blasted & painted silver. All New Firestone Tires, Tubes, & Flaps. Tubes have correct metal original valve stems, nickel plated with dust covers. Steering: New plating on gear case & cover. New SS control rods. Re-bushed throughout. Frame: Straightened, blasted, and Powder coated. Rebuilt Horn with SS diaphragm New Flat Tube Radiator (Brassworks) Coil Box entirely rebuilt with Plastic replacement for wood. Carburetor rebuilt by removing all plugs. New needle & seat. New data plate with correct copper drive screws. Painted with DuPont Imron Exhaust – Exhaust manifold appears original. I wanted to keep the original, but did not make a jig to straighten yet, hence the green gaskets. There are glands in 2 or 3 of the 4 ports currently. SS exhaust pipe. New Muffler (Correct Stamped Steel) New Gas Tank, rebuilt sediment bowl. Top – Excellent set of top sockets with new wood bows installed. No top covering at this time. Body - Turtle deck has matching numbers and closes like new. Reminder of body is presentable, no rust holes or anything, has been restored in the past. It has patches in the corners (well done it appears). All new wiring. Anderson Timer Contacts inside timer. New hardwood floorboards of correct construction. Headlights: Rebuilt buckets (straightened, dents removed, painted very well, New SS adjustment screws) I have the correct spare tire carrier to go with the car. It is currently in epoxy primer.
