Vehicle Detail
My wife is reluctantly selling her 1999 Ford F-250 V-10 Triton Lariat. We have owned the truck since 2011 and have put approximately 15,000 trouble-free miles on it in that time. My wife has used the F-250 for trips to the hardware store and occasionally to tow her aluminum two-horse trailer, which the truck has pulled with total ease. The F-250 has been treated like part of the family and has always been maintained properly, with no expense spared in its maintenance and upkeep. Whatever the truck required, I did without hesitation. All maintenance was done at either the Ford dealership or by me. Whenever replacement parts were necessary, only original Ford or the best aftermarket parts were used. I have changed the oil every 5,000 miles with Mobil1 synthetic oil and recently installed a DieHard AGM battery, made by Odyssey. The F-250 has been completely reliable, a testament to proper maintenance and the unstressed life which the truck has led. The F-250 was treated to a subtle customization package when new by the Sherrod Van Company in Waycross, Goergia. This included a custom paint scheme using Dupont ChromaBase paint as well as many exterior and interior accessories. I think the Lariat package and custom touches together transformed the truck from a practical workhorse to my wife’s “cowgirl Cadillac,” which she has always enjoyed diving more than our Ford Excursion. I am the second owner of the truck and have maintained the truck’s easy life, driving it sparingly and during the summer months only. The truck is in remarkably nice shape, especially considering the rough life most F-250s lead. Other than a few touched up paint nicks, the exterior of the truck shows virtually no wear, with the paint retaining a wonderful luster. Likewise, the interior shows only minimal wear. The leather seats have always been protected with seat covers and have none of the usual cracking or fading. And unlike so many pick-ups, this one is rust-free, having never been exposed to the harsh winters of the northeast. All original equipment and accessories are with the car, including owner’s and service manuals, as well as the unused jack and spare. The F-250 currently has 48,857 miles and needs absolutely nothing in terms of mechanical or cosmetic attention. This is a very pleasurable truck to drive. All switches, gauges and systems function properly and as designed. This truck has always been driven in moderate climates and has been properly stored when not in use. I have been collecting cars for over twenty-five years and am very particular about the cars I purchase. Although not bought as a collector car, I was no less critical when buying this F-250. It is a very nice truck and should serve its new owner for many years to come.
