Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful 1955 Buick Special that really gets lots of thumbs up when cruising down the road. The car is laser straight and totally rust free. The car has been in South Carolina since new, and only has 73,900 original miles and is listed as so on the title. The car had a frame on restoration and new paint in 1993 to what you see now. The paint is still very nice with only a few minor small chips that have been touched up and they are hard to see. The front and rear bumpers were rechromed and look really nice. It still has its original 264 CI 188 hp Nail Head Fireball Engine with factory 4 barrel carburetor that was freshened up also and it runs very good. It also has a three speed column shift transmission. The clutch is good and does not slip but it does have a little chatter from time to time when taking off from stand still. This is rather common on these cars but doesn’t affect the driving. The car shifts good and all the gears work as they should. It has a 10 bolt rear end but I don’t know what gear ratio it is. They also put in vintage air conditioning and it also has a new alternator. The interior is very nice and has no stains or tears. The headliner is nice as well and so is the carpet. All the gauges work including the speedometer and the gas gauge. It also has a new set of 17 inch rev wheels and tires 225/ 55 /17 fronts and 235 /55 /17 rears. The chrome and stainless trim is really nice with a little pitting on the rear tail lights and rear propeller center trim on the deck lid but not bad. The glass is good with some small scratches on the front windshield and a few bubbles in the side vent glass but again not real bad. They all appear to be factory glass to me. The trunk is finished as well and it also looks real good. The exhaust looks new with glass pack style mufflers and full exhaust to the rear with stainless tips. The car sounds good and is not too loud or too quiet and sounds just right to me. The battery is new also. The car drives real good and straight and stops well .It does not have power steering or power brakes. The AM radio doesn’t work and neither does the clock. All the lights and turn signals work also. Over all this is a really nice Buick special that you can drive and have fun, and have something different than everyone else is driving. This car does well at local car shows and is always a crowd pleaser. When you drive this car you will feel like a rock star with all the attention you will get. I didn’t build this car I traded another car for it and I am in the middle of a project so I am letting it go. I would love to keep it but I can’t at this time. Please remember this car is 60 years old and does not handle or drive like the modern cars of today. I have described the car to the best of my ability and tried to give an accurate description on what I see. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. If you expecting this to be a new car then you may want to look for something elsewhere because it is not a new car. It is a very nice old car. This car is being sold in as is condition with no warranties or guarantees implied. It has a clear South Carolina Title. The car can be viewed in person but it would have to be by appointment only due to my job hours. If you are looking for summer fun, or just wanting to get something different take a good look at this car. I don’t think you will be disappointed. May be interested in hot rods, older camaros, muscle cars. Item is described to the best of my ability and is sold as is with no warranties implied or otherwise.
