INTRODUCTION::: You are bidding on a very rare 1972 Toyota Carina Deluxe. This car was recently restored to its original condition; with the exception of lowering springs and the Enkei wheels. The fender mirrors are period correct for Japanese domestic Carinas and we thought they look great on the car. We specialize in restoring vintage Japanese motorcycles to 100% original condition so this Toyota Carina is more of a personal side project. The 1972 Toyota carina was only imported to the North America for two years in very low production numbers so they are very hard to find in any condition; I originally bought this car because I loved the design of the car and really wanted a fun project, but now its time to move on and part with this car because I have way too many motorcycle restorations yet to accomplish; so please read further for more details about the car and inspect the pictures for additional details; please feel free to contact me with any additional questions... BODY::: All of the body panels were repainted to original factory color code and look very good, although this is not a $7000 museum quality paint job, but it is a very good quality paint job with no orange peal; all of the chrome was stripped before paint with the exception of front and rear window seals, other than that the car was striped on the outside to bare metal. All of the chrome looks very good, except the front bumper, rear bumper and taillight trim do have some fade to them so those are not show quality but are in good shape overall. There is no major rust anywhere on the car, the under side of the car is in very good condition with no rust or excessive wear on any of the body parts. MECHANICAL::: The care runs and drives very nice. The 1.6 liter engine will fire up every time with out any problems and immediately smooth down to regular idle every time, these Toyota motors truly are very reliable and a pleasure to drive. We adjusted the valves, timing, points, and did a full tune up replacing points, wires, plugs, air filter, oil filter, water, belts, fuel filter, cleaned and adjusted carburetor, break bleed, front disc brake pads replaced, new tires, new exhaust; basically all of the mechanical maintenance was recently done so the car is ready to drive anywhere reliably. The car is low so it does ride a bit on the stiff side; but it handles great in turns and is a pleasure to ride if you enjoy riding a bit low :) All of the electrical works perfect, headlights, high-beams, taillights, brake lights, side markers and turn signals all work as they should. INTERIOR::: The interior is all original in unrestored condition; it is in good condition with only some very minor cracks on the cluster and dash, please check the pictures for details. All the seats are in very good condition with out any rips except the drives seat does have wear on the left shoulder side, as most old cars do. The carpet is perfect with no rips and the head liner is also in great shape with no rips. All of the interior electrical switches work as they should and all lights light up as they should; the only thing that does not work is the original carina radio; other than that everything in the interior works as it should... CONCLUSION::: This is a great opportunity to get a rare nice old Toyota. The car is ready to drive and is in good restored condition.
