Vehicle Detail

This 1967 Honda 305 Scrambler was recently discovered in a concreted storage facility where it had been stored and un-ridden since 1988, hence the 1988 Missouri plates left intact. It is a “VERY LATE” production CL77 verified by the Frame VIN: CL77-1061249 and the corresponding Engine VIN: CL77E-1061423 of which the original engine has never been removed from the frame since it left the Honda Factory in Japan so many years ago. This Vintage Honda is a true SURVIVOR / TIME CAPSULE and it is pretty much unmolested and untouched. When found the front tire had been flat for so many years it was useless and a used vintage tire matching the correct tread pattern was obtained and installed. The tank badges were both cracked at which time a correct reproduction set was purchased and installed. The only void to the complete machine is the chain guard and they are readily available here on the pages of ebay but other than that “this” Scrambler is complete and “All There”. The bike displays a very low mileage of 5,810 which is believed to be original as the original rear tire tread wear corresponds with the mileage shown. The exhaust / muffler assembly is complete and the muffler is rock solid with no major dings or dents plus it is amazing that the muffler was not “cut off” and snuff or nots installed like 80% of the other 305 Scrambler’s were! Every single original nut, bolt, fasteners, grips, levers, seat, rubber pegs, etc., etc., etc., are correct and original to the bike with exception of the aforementioned replacement items. This particular bike has the rare later produced plastic shock covers as most were steel however the left side next to the muffler is void and more than likely melted off... Not one of Honda’s better ideas. This Vintage CL77 is a long ways from concourse as most of the chrome is pitted, has some paint scratches and deterioration of paint on the frame and other areas, etc., and most if not all should be visible in the images shown. Remarkably the original Candy Blue paint is still very “BRILLIANT” and not all faded and milked out like so many of the early Candy Colors were as all of you Honda aficionados, restorers, and collectors are aware of. This bike could be preserved and left “as is” for originality purpose bragging rights or could easily be correctly restored as it is mostly un-tampered with. Work performed by a licensed Honda Service Manager on the bike most recently was the addition of a new battery, carburetor cleaning, petcock rebuilt, inner fuel tank sealed, complete bike thoroughly cleaned and gently polished so as not to disturb the patina of this survivor. Everything including all electrical components work on the bike, it starts on the first kick and pretty much idles, runs, rides, and shifts as it was intended when new some 48 years ago. The original tool kit is still intact and a free and clear Missouri title in my name is available to the high bidder. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have. Thank you and good luck.
