Up for auction is this 1993 Saturn SW1 station wagon. Color is blue green metallic with gray interior. Drivetrain features 1.9L SOHC engine and 4-speed automatic transmission. Mileage reads 57,164 original miles. This vehicle is my elderly father’s automobile. He is the original owner and it has always been garage kept in a heated garage and non-smoking household. Vehicle was rarely driven in the winter. He is no longer able to drive so we are selling it for him. This vehicle starts right up, always ran very well, never needed any major mechanical repair, and it never left him stranded. The vehicle is all original including the paint and body panels. Overall the car is in good condition for its age, however, it does show signs of wear normal for a vehicle of this age. The interior does have some wear and staining of the carpet and upholstery. The body does have some assorted chips and scratches. And my father isn't quite sure what he might have scraped (thus the reason he no longer drives! J), but there is a scrape on the front right fender (shown in photo). A little elbow grease, mechanical buffing, touch-up paint and that area would look a lot better. It’s a Saturn with plastic body panels and the only metal panel is the hood, so that being said, there are little to no dings and dents. The body, subframe and undercarriage is clean and virtually rust-free. Mechanically the car runs very well, in fact, I recently drove it to and from Ithaca, NY (4-hour round trip) to visit my sister. Everything pretty much works as it should. AC blows cold air. The rear wiper works, but it no longer sprays cleaner. The pump may be gone. The driver’s seat has an area where the vinyl is splitting at the seam (shown in photo). The muffler and tail pipe are original, and the muffler is rusting out and the system will eventually need replacing. The front tires have about 75% tread left, and the rear are down to only about 10% and will soon need replacing. Last summer the transmission fluid and filter was replaced. The radiator was flushed and fluid replaced with new thermostat. Brake system fluid was flushed. Spark plugs were replaced. It also has a recent oil change and air filter change. And it does have a recent PA state inspection completed in April. New front brake rotors and brake pads were installed for that inspection. The car was always well maintained.
