Vehicle Detail
I bought this Cummins powered Dodge to use for another Diesel conversion. It was perfect for my purposes, good drivetrain, expired body. So I then purchased a 1965 Jeep J300. The truck is original paint and 33k miles. It's just too nice to modify so I'm offering up the Dodge. It is a 1992 with an Intercooled 6BT, 4 wheel drive and automatic transmission. I was told the trans was rebuilt shortly before I purchased it. Mechanically the truck is great. The body has been used up. This was a farm truck with a utility bed and a bale fork. Both were removed and refitted to another truck before I bought it. The final blow for this ol workhorse was not mechanical. A nasty storm blew a good sized limb onto the cab, hood and windshield. In spite of the pictures I know somebody will ask so here it is, good common sense says you can not drive this truck home. It does still run, drive, stop and steer properly. What do you think any law enforcement person will think if you are seen out on the road? Have you ever seen Trains, Planes and Automobiles with the little K car convertible? Same scenario. This ol Cummins truck starts good hot or cold. It idles a little rough. I attribute this to diesel fuel that is several years or possibly injectors. I was gonna upgrade the injectors so I wasn't concerned. Anything off of an idle and it smooth's out and performs just like a Cummins should. Like I said, all the mechanicals seem fine. I took a picture of the gauges with the motor running. Charging system works and it hold good oil pressure. The 4 wheel drive, HI/Low, lock out hubs, all that works good. The trans goes through all the gears though I can't verify overdrive for obvious reasons. The nice ol' farmer told he had the trans rebuilt about 6 months before the tree incident. Though I don't have any receipts I have no reason to doubt him. Brakes work great with no leaks and proper pedal effort. Oddly enough the power windows still work. The passenger door does not open. The roof is caved in as well as the hood and the windshield is broke. The cab and fenders were rusty anyway before the tree finished it off. The radiator support is in good condition. This was important to me since I use this part in my conversions with intercooler. I'm sure some vital information is left out so feel free to give me a call or you can use text or email if that is your preference. Ph # 573-230-6222. Thanks for looking! I included a few pics of my 72 W200 Forest Service Cummins Diesel conversion. This should explain why I'm rethinking another Cummins conversion
