Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1947 Ford COE. I purchased this truck several years ago with the intentions of making it a car hauler. It was covered in dust from sitting in a barn for a number of years. When I got the truck home and gave it a bath I was stunned by how pristine the body was. There wasn't/isn't rust anywhere. Even the door seams are perfect on the underside. I have a number of hot rods, they are all chopped ( which was my plan with this), tubbed etc. and, as strange as this may sound, could not allow myself to tear into this. It is just too nice. Going over the truck here is what I can tell you: There appears to be a small dent (not rust) that was fixed on the driver fender, there are a couple of small dents on the roof that were not fixed when it was last painted (no indication of something hitting it afterward but I can't say for sure). I have new rubber seals for the windshield. The cover for the radiator cap on the truck was not the original one so I did purchase the correct one, however it is not painted/installed, just primered. I also have the trim piece that says FORD that some have that wrap around the top of the nose piece. The waterfall grill is near perfect. There are no dings, needs a little polishing and has some very very minor surface rust on the edges nearest the radiator. The front bumper needs re-chromed but isn't horrible. It has been converted to 12 volt. The battery and cables are new. The battery box, which is comprised of two flat steel strips, has a split in one of the pieces of steel, but the battery is still held solidly. The tires are all new, the two in the front and the two rear outside match, the two inside are a different tread. The wheels are all in excellent shape and painted to match the truck. The frame was apparently cleaned and painted, It has a new exhaust, 2 speed rear end and a PTO. The flathead V8 runs perfectly. The first time I started it I didn't even realize it was running. There is no headliner. The seats have been re-upholstered. The interior is painted to match the outside. The speedometer cable is not connected (I imagine when they painted the inside of the cab the dash was just put back in). All the lights work. The header panel above the drivers seat has a square hole cut into it where the windshield wiper motor is (don't know why). It is a period correct enamel paint job, not a new base coat clear coat mirror finish. Couple of small runs above the drip rail on the roof. There is a scuff on the drivers fender where it appears the door rubbed and the steps at each door have been slightly used. I have taken this out a few times a year for the past several years just to drive it. The last time I drove was last summer as it was moved when I had a new roof put on the shop. The brakes were a little soft. I have a clear Indiana title for the truck. I have a copy of the original title, I asked the state to return the original with the new title and they failed to do so. The truck was originally from Kingman Kansas. The height is approximately 85 inches, length is approximately 186", and center of front wheel to center of rear wheel is approximately 128". I don't know a whole lot more about the truck but if you have questions feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my knowledge. I truly think it would be hard to find one that is in this nice of shape. Sorry the truck was dusty when I took the pics! This is being sold as is with no warranty. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of winning bid. The vehicle is stored indoors, no hurry to have it transported, I am flexible on a reasonable pick-up date. Thanks for your interest.
