Vehicle Detail
I bought this car 5 years ago and have taken great care of it. The engine is in good shape but there are issues with the car, the main one being I'm getting a check engine light and the car goes into "limp mode" Based on the scan, it is due to a bad "transmission range sensor." This is the only time that ive ever gotten the Check engine light in 5 years of ownership. 1. The transmission control unit in 2002-2004 MB C32's has a "jerk" to it after extended driving (usually 1hr or so). This is the hidden problem in these cars that others will not disclose but google C32 transmission jerk and you will see for yourself. This problem isn't going away. I do short drives so I rarely experience it, but it's there as soon as I drive throughout the day. 2. The Lower control Arms are bad. This is a common weak point in the C Class. It makes suspension seem extremely clunky when driving. The car drives extremely stiff. Estimated Fix cost: $500, but that will just get of the clunky sound, the car will continue to be extremely stiff. 3. The Window Wipers are stuck up. They work fine, but the ending position is up. 4. The sunroof does not work right. It will still open and close, but stutters. 5. The power seats cannot stay plugged in. The module in these models drain the battery when the car is off. You have to find your setting, then unplug. Your passengers will have to do the same unless you replace the module. 6. The fog lights in the Lorinser bumper are not attached to car, they will need to be wired to the old wires 7. Vibration over 40 mph believed to be rotors as all 4 wheels were replaced in '13 and slight vibration remained. Vibration when braking over 40 mph. 8. No parking Brake. 9. It could use a Cabin Air Filter. 10. Front wheels misaligned bad. Those are the mechanical issues with the car. Here are the aesthetic issues: 1. A crack down the back right bumper. 2. The front bumper isn't flush with the front right of the car. 3. The Right exhaust pipe is pushed in a little. 4. The rims are stock rims painted black. It scraped off on a curb pretty bad and could use a repainting 5. Inside of car is dirty, I ripped out the cup holder with my hands. Fades and grime on some of the inside center area. Here is what I've purchased for the vehicle: 1. Lorinser Body Kit, front and back bumper $3,000 + Mercedes paint job 2. Lorinser Exhaust. Splits the single exhaust into 2 pipes and gives sporty sound. $2,000 with the install 3. Lorinser rooftop spoiler $200, could use reinstallation with better glue. 4. Resonator Delete Kit. $300 5. Eurocharged Heat Exchanger $500 plus the install 6. Lowered the car 1" using H&R springs $300 plus the install 7. Sachs Shocks and dampeners: $1000 plus the install 8. H&R sway bars: $400 plus the install 9. Flat badge for hood: $25 10. Authentic AMG license plate cover: $25 11. Green Air Filters in '12, New Spark plugs in '12, new spark wires in '12, fuel filter in '12, new wipers in '13 $1,000 This is the most recent work I had done: 1. $2000+ at the Mercedes Dealership in '13 to replace filter/gaskets in engine. This was the last time the oil was changed (about 7,000 miles ago) They said the engine was in great shape 2. New rear tires in 09/2014 3. 20 New Lug Bolts in early 2014 3. Battery & Alternator were tested in 10/14 and found to be good. Things you should know: 1. These cars eat rear tires up fast. While the front tires will last you 30,000+ miles, you're lucky to get 10,000 out of the back, even less if you drive hard. Tires range between $70-$300 ea. 2. This is not a smooth ride by any means. Other: I had the pulley kit, but sold it. This is not a "modded" out car. I never did any engine tunes. The car will come with Headers if I can find them., never installed. In order to get the car into great excellent shape, you'd have to address the items above. It comes with only 1 key. No drivers manual included.
