Vehicle Detail
THIS CAR IS BEING RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BUYER Here is you chance to own a piece of history. Up for sale is a 1979 VW Bug Convertible, the last year of this magnificent automobile. The exterior is River Blue Metallic with a black top and black interior. The body is straight with no dents or dings (except for a small crease on the top of the driver's door as can be seen in the pictures). The car runs great and shifts smoothly through all 4 gears. The included records indicate that she has been fully restored, starting with a new engine in 2007, followed by a complete body restoration, and ending with a new top and headliner in 2012. All of the glass is intact with no chips or cracks. The window cranks work but could use some lubrication. The car is very solid underneath with no rust on the pans and only some minor surface rust on the bumpers. (The rear bumper could probably be re-chromed if you wanted to make the exterior nearly flawless. The dash has a small crack but the dash has a hard molded cover that looks like an original dash. It has the original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio but the knobs are in need of replacement. The only reason I am selling this car is to make room for the electric Mercedes that was just delivered to me. I will also include some extra parts including a set of stock wheels (I do not know their condition as they have been sitting in boxes for several years) an extra set of tail light lenses and outer door handles, and a stack of VW books and manuals. The vintage classic is 36 years old but you would never know it by looking at it or driving it. It is not a show car but easily could be. It is however extremely reliable, really fun to drive, and draws a lot attention wherever it goes. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION.....THE CAR WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER Vehicle is available for sale locally as well. Seller reserves the right to end the auction if the car is sold locally.
