Vehicle Detail

With only 8,000 Nomads ever produced in 1956, famed designer Harley Earl called the 1956 Nomad "The most beautiful station wagon ever produced" and few would disagree. This is very possibly the coolest, best priced "Resto-Mad" to be offered for sale in a very long time! From the Goodrich Radial TA's on new WELD Racing Wheels on the ground to the chrome headliner bows on top, this great piece of American automotive history will never disappoint and will always draw attention weather you are at a show, cruising to your favorite drive-inn, or taking a road trip across America. This beauty has won over 100 awards in the past nine years throughout the Northwest, including: Grand Champion, Best of Show, Mayor's Choice, People's Choice, Best Nostalgic, Best Flames, Best Interior, Best Engine, and Best of Category, yet, this Nomad is a driver. The current owner averages about 3,000 miles a year on the car, the new owner can rest assured that all you have to do is turn the key and point the car in the direction you want to head. You can literally drive this car from coast to coast and will never experience a problem, it's that well built and maintained. In the last two years, the owner has installed a brand new 350 c.i. (305 h.p.) SBC, professionally built engine (4,000 on new engine) and added new steering, new front disk brakes, rebuilt the front end, new rear end, new "Kick Ass" axles, new air shocks, new Dakota Digital analogue gauges, new aluminum radiator, and much, much more. I have tons of receipts and other documentation that will go with the vehicle as well as a show board, a few extra parts, 18 inch original steering wheel, spare TA Radial on a new WELD wheel, custom car cover, and bra. Built to be a driver and not a trailer queen, the car is not perfect and has a few minor imperfections that are so small they can not be photographed, but they do exist. You will know where they are but at car shows they are seldom seen by judges who always score the car very high. On the NADA and Kelly scale this vehicle is a strong three out of four and has a State Farm Ins. agreed upon replacement value of $70,000. Using the NADA value estimate, this car should list for $66,500 but is listed for substantially less to generate a quick sale. The only reason I am selling is that I'm at an age that I feel I have one more car build in me and I need to sell the Nomad before I can afford to start on another project. This car has been garaged in a climate controlled shop since I've owned it for the past nine years, and has not been smoked in. Always be cautious when buying a vehicle on-line. Please consider flying in or driving in and inspecting this car or consider hiring an independent inspector. In my case I will pick you up at the airport, let you thoroughly inspect and drive the car, we can put it up on a rack and inspect the underside or we can take it to a local mechanic of your choice. I have absolutely nothing to hide and welcome you to be a cautious and wise buyer. If you agree that it's the best Nomad for the price offered on eBay or any other site, you can drive it home (after a cash payment or direct deposit) or I will store it at no cost until you can arrange financing and shipping. Feel free to email me at: onthecreek7@msn.com or call (208) 775-4507 and I will be happy to answer any and every question you may have. If you can find a better Nomad for the price, don't let it get away! Some details of interest are: Engine; SBC 350 x 310 (dyno sheet available) by Dennis Davis Racing. Pro Comp aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock aluminum Vortec heads, Comp roller cam, Lunati roller lifters and rockers, Headman headers, BG Demon 750 double pumper carburetor, ECS aluminum radiator, Edelbrock signature valve covers, and a MSD electronic ignition. The engine has 4,000 miles on it since the build in December, 2013, and a 700 R-4 transmission. Exterior; Paint is India Ivory and Tropical turquoise with nearly invisible pearl and teal ghost flames. The paint looks inches deep and flops between turquoise and sky blue depending on light conditions with turquoise being the dominant color. Most chrome and stainless has been replaced or re-plated, new tail lights, new blue dot headlights, new lift gate gas shocks, new WELD wheels, Vintage Air, and much more. Interior; Turquoise/White old school tuck and roll, chrome headliner bows, faux wood grain dash, Dakota gauges, B&M floor shifter, new 15" chopped steering wheel, AM/FM/cassette player, and in the back a full set of Samsonite '50's era luggage to "WOW" the crowd at car shows or to use on road trips. Buy it, drive it, but above all love it, and always remember to ask yourself the most important question; "When you turn on your car, does it return the favor?" - Your new Nomad will. Guaranteed! I WILL CONSIDER TRADES FOR THE RIGHT VEHICLE.
