Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Auto restoration shop offers this 1967 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. We just completed this restoration. I took a 67 model year that is emission exempt in all states other than being on the cusp in Nevada (check your state to be sure) removed all the un-desired components that were not available in the FJ40 until 1976, installed the desired components from a 1978 FJ40 to make one awesome daily driving Cruiser. I’ve built dozens of FJ40’s as seen on my Photobucket link, sold them at all the major public auctions and achieved some of the highest prices. Most recent…typical restored 76 FJ40 sold at BJ Scottsdale last month for 48k. I built this FJ40 to be in a realistic price range that most can afford. I focused my money spent on the mechanical upgrades while still making it a cosmetically pleasing unit. This is one nice cruiser, but not the museum build that is never driven. Built to be used and enjoyed. Building an FJ40 is very expensive, buy this one done and enjoy now, no long build wait and exploded budget. You are buying from a shop that built this FJ40, with pictures to prove it, not a used car lot that sprayed on some tire wet and added 50% over what they paid for it. I’m offering this FJ40 at a fair price of $22,500 OBO; I actually have more into it, the car lot idea of tire wet and re-sale undoubtedly more profitable. Click this PhotoBucket link for 102 pictures of this build. http://s953.photobucket.com/user/fj40man79/library/1967%20Red%20FJ40%202F%204%20Speed Click this YouTube link for a video of this truck running http://youtu.be/_6I4Bx6ipaM MECHANICAL Fresh rebuilt 1978 FJ40 2F. Performance build, de-smogged. I removed the stock carburetor and added an electric choke Weber (runs much better, more power) I adapted the Weber to a stock 2F air cleaner (I like the look, also better airflow, functional heat riser for those cold mornings) Exhaust header. New clutch and re-surfaced flywheel to 1978 FJ40 4 speed transmission and transfer case. We did a power steering conversion using a rare 79-83 FJ40 power steering box to a GM pump (The GM pump is much stronger than original Toyota) a must for this tire size. We upgraded the steering column to a 78 FJ40, also most of the switches, turn signal lights, re-wired most of the truck. Warn 8274 8000lb winch, I completely rebuilt it with Warn genuine parts, new control cable (worth it as these are $2000 new) new battery, rebuilt brake master/slave, clutch master/slave. Tires are 33in Pro Comp Mud Terrain with 98% tread. 2 ½ in lift kit with new shocks/boots. We converted quite a few more items from the 78 FJ40. New ball joints and boots, rebuilt brake system. BODY The body on this Cruiser was in good shape to begin with as seen on the picture link. I 1st saw this Cruiser 23 years ago in an Idaho barn, on my 9th attempt I was able to buy it last spring. This FJ40 is a factory soft top model. I have the original soft doors that can be purchased at an additional $400. I installed a Bestop soft top and doors. Bikini top also included. I added a 78 FJ40 roll-bar as 1967 did not come with them. New Smittybuilt front seats, rear bench tuck/tumble seat. We raptor lined the interior tub for heat protection and ease of cleaning. We did a driver quality paint job, custom painted emblems, mirrors etc. The undercarriage is coated with POR-15, a must to prevent rust from starting. We did quite a few small items that would take awhile to explain, attention to detail such as changing the placard on the glove box cover from the original 3 speed to upgraded 4 speed. Simple radio with rear mounted speakers. There is a chip in the windshield near the wiper blade, not in line of sight, could be filled by Novus easily. Overall, this is a nice FJ40 built to enjoy, while not being the eye sore most wives hate when it comes to these rigs. They are so expensive to build, most simply can’t or don’t want to pay to restore them. If you are looking for a mechanically sound rebuilt vintage 4x4 that looks good at a reasonable price this may be for you. If you are looking for a museum quality build, I have the best 1981 BJ42 diesel out there (will be done once final parts come in from Australia) cost on that one is 75k. I have a clean/clear WA state title in my name in hand. I have a shipping broker whom has shipped dozens of vehicles for me; I will pass on his info or work with your shipper. PayPal deposit $1000 due immediately after auction conclusion (no exceptions) remainder due within 5 days. Title or truck do not leave my possession until full cleared payment. I welcome 3rd party inspections during the auction at my shop under my supervision. I’m a licensed vintage auto appraiser myself, I find no offense in you hiring someone to come take a look.
