Up for sale is a 2005 GMC Sierra 3500 Cab and Chassis. 81" CA It is equipped with a DURAMAX LLY engine and ALLISON transmission. 188,000 miles with under 2500 total engine hours. It has been outfitted with a Knapheide Utility Service Body. The body measures 11'x7'6". It is also fitted with the optional Roller sliding steel bed cover. The cover rides on roller bearings and when slid open it exposes over 8' of usable bed space for larger objects. When closed it fully secures all tools and contents. The owner had two custom aluminum storage lockers installed on top of the side cabinets. These allowed him to carry 10' lengths of PVC pipe. These can be removed if they are not needed. The utility body is in good shape for its age. The floors and bracing are all super solid with no rust or rot. The service doors have exterior surface rust on them in some spots. Only one door on the right side has a small rust hole that is very fixable. All the others are still very solid and should be sanded and touched up to look perfect. The exterior latches have been touched up with black paint but would look best if replaced with updated stainless ones. All doors work as they should. I do not have any keys to boxes. The cab on the truck is showroom perfect. The paint shines well and there are no dents or scrapes. There is absolutely no rust or rot. The owner of this truck GARAGED it at night at his business. When it snowed the truck stayed inside. This is why the exterior and underside are in such great shape for a northern truck. It is an SLE model and as such is fully loaded. The interior and carpets are in great shape. Center seat flips down. Privacy glass. All options work as they should. All lights work. It has extendable mirrors with turn signals. The powertrain is in very good shape. When inspected on the lift from the bottom there is not a seep or a leak to be found. It does need a U joint which I am in the process of having done. The Duramax has just been serviced with all AC Delco filters and Rotella Oil. The glow plug control module was also replaced. It starts and runs beautiful. The Allison has been fully serviced with new external and internal filters. It was refilled with Allison Synthetic transmission fluid. The truck has plenty of power and runs down the highway very well. The truck is fitted with stainless simulators. All the tires are Michelins. The fronts are 1/2 worn. The rears are 3/4 worn. This will make a great work truck for someone who wants a Duramax but does not want to spend 50K. It carries no Warranty. Buyer can fly in and drive home. I can pick up buyer at Boston/Logan Airport.
