We recently received a promotional discounted vehicle sale offer from ebay since we've never sold a car online before - so we decided to part with our 1991 350SD Mercedes............the last year of the hand built' indestructible legendary Mercedes W126 body diesel passenger sedan. We are starting the bidding at $100 dollars and selling with NO RESERVE! (the way all auctions should be in my opinion........) We bought this car online from a private seller in Louisiana and had it shipped to us in Wisconsin in 2002. It's an extremely reliable car (actually the 3rd one of these we've owned over the last 25 years or so). If you know anything about these cars, then you already know about their extreme reliability, safety and very respectable fuel economy (almost always 27/28mpg whether in town on on the highway). Body has rust starting, (please see the pics). Air conditioner does not work (actually never did since we've owned the car) and living in Wisc, wasn't really ever a big deal for us to not have AC. We never have had it looked at, so we are unsure what it may need to blow cold again. Brakes and tires were replaced about 15,000 miles ago and are in good condition. Vehicle starts very quickly (this is important in my opinion with any diesel engine). Has plug-in block heater for use in cold climates (we use it when temps drop below about 0-10 degrees F). Interior is in pretty good shape for the age, driver seat has some small tears. Electric seats work fine, power sunroof works fine too. The electric blower motor for the dash air either needs replacing or possibly it's the switches on the dash as they are intermittent and the auxiliary toggle switch added is also intermittent operation. With the Mercedes design the car "self-heats" just by going down the road, so it hasn't been a big deal to us. Cruise control works and all the exterior headlites, running lites and blinkers all work fine. Car goes down the road smooth at both low and high speeds. Stops very well, no brake noises, etc. Exhaust is good and quiet. Please contact us with any other questions you may have.
