Once again Maserati chose the name of a wind for its dramatic Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed (Ital Design), mid-engine GT. The Bora featured a sporty but comfortable cabin with its air conditioning and sophisticated, innovative chassis. Citroen encouraged high-pressure hydraulics for the windows, pop-up headlights, adjustable seats and pedal box, as well as vented disc brakes. Few of these Italian supercars remain in the US and are quickly becoming highly sought-after for their unique beauty and inherent performance. This particular car, chassis no. 936 was completed in May 1975 and delivered in June of that year, destined for the U.S. market; optioned with tool kit and standard accessories. The order was commissioned by Maserati Automobiles, Inc. of Los Angeles, California and imported through M.A.I. of New Jersey. Maserati Classic Department in Modena, Italy verifies all original build specifications and order with a true copy of the original Delivery Note, true copy of the original "End of line" Data Sheet, an additional document containing the car's Technical/Aesthetic characteristics and The Certificate of Origin. Finished in a striking Yellow paintwork over Black Connoly leather upholstery, this Bora has received a considerable amount attention over the years attested by its current presentation. The car is certainly a great preserved driver, ideal for continued enjoyment and display. The body appears very straight with excellent lines and gaps with glossy older paintwork. The brightly finished roof and Campagnolo wheels show well, as does the interior with nicely mellowed leather upholstery with all proper working instruments, including the clock and hydraulically operated seats, windows, lights and pedals. A recent inspection and maintenance was commissioned to all of 936's mechanical systems, while most recently treated to a tune-up and meticulous detailing.
