This is a 1955 Volkswagen Deluxe Sedan. It has been a central California car its whole life and as such has never had any rust. It is early 1955 delivery and came with European features like semaphore turn signals and European heart tail lights, but with over rider bumpers. I am the fourth owner and have owned this car since 1994. It has been garage kept the whole time and in my early ownership of it drove it frequently, but the last ten years have driven it only to a few VW shows. Two years ago I had the original 36hp engine rebuilt by Bug Parts Online in Paso Robles and have only put less than 100 miles on in since. The trans shifts well and had a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing at the time of the engine rebuild. This car retains its original 5 bolt hood with the triangle support on the underside of the hood emblem, as well as the wide perch, big spring W decklid in the rear. The rear apron was changed by the original owner at the time it was painted white around 1990. I had ordered a factory birth certificate in 1994, (which I have since mislayed or possibly lost) after my purchase of it and verified at that time the engine, transmission and front beam were all original to the car. The original color was noted as dolphin grey which still shows through in the trunk just above the gas tank. The car was converted to 12 volt with the use of a Porsche 12volt generator sometime prior to my purchase and works great providing stronger lighting than the 6volt systm could ever have done. The car has older reupholstered seats with the H pattern in brown and newer German square weave carpet. The cars headliner was in shreds and removed. I am providing a new in the bag, tan cloth headliner from Wolfsburg West with the sale for the new owners installation. The seats are the correct front tombstone style and the rear is correct with the little leg that sits on the transmission tunnel. The steering wheel is a Koch restored wheel in ivory and looks great. The car also has the optional passenger sunvisor. When taking the pictures I took the spare tire out and though not shown in the pictures, it is included with the car. The car does come with the optional Brambus parcel tray shown in the photo. The car is located in Berkeley, CA. The car is listed with a low reserve, please don't email me with what the reserve is.
