For sale is a 1978 BMW R100S in an R100/7 frame with clear title. Black with Gold pin stripes. The bike has just gone through a rigorous rebuild/restoration job. The bike indicates 33,102 miles but I purchased the bike in the later stages of renovation/rebuild/upgrade and made additional upgrades and performed carburetor work and tuning/balancing and cleaning and polishing and test rides. Exact mileage is unknown but does not matter for a daily long distance runner as the recommended maintenance items have been replaced, adjusted, or upgraded . This model year has a rear disc brake. Top end refresh with new Black Diamond valves. Valve guides and valve seats checked. Black powder-coated Snowflake wheels, Simpson “S” fairing, 40mm carbs with new CV diaphragms and new 160 main jets, dual Hi-Low horns, new connecting rod bearings, new push-rod seals, new wheel bearings, new steering head bearings, new swing arm bearings, new throttle gear assembly. Rebuilt forks with new seals and gaskets. Telefix fork brace and upgraded upper triple clamp. New fork gaitors, new stainless-steel brake lines, Dyna dual ignition coils, Dyna 3 electronic ignition, Brown side-stand, Reynolds ride-off center stand, new fuel petcocks, new hand grips, new bar-end mirrors, new clock and oil pressure gauges, dual-plugged heads with new spark plug wires and NGK caps, new throttle cables, new brake cable, new clutch cable, new speedometer cable, electronic tachometer, new Westco battery, new Bridgestone Spitfire tires. Progressive chrome rear shocks. All lock sets and keys match. Comes with under seat tool tray. All fluids changed, valves adjusted, carbs balanced, and engine tuned up. BMW roundels on Steering head nut and both carb tops. BMW accessory power outlet plug at front right for GPS or whatever, and BMW accessory power outlet plug by seat lock for heated jacket. The right side muffler has a few small acid stains below the right side of the battery behind the right footpeg. Bike rides straight, strong, and smooth. Bike needs nothing except a new owner just in time for Spring. Additional photos available upon request. Bike is available for in-person inspection by appointment. $500 deposit is required immediately after sale with remaining balance due within 7 days after completion of auction.
