Up for sale is my 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with a Chevrolet 350 Throttle Body Fuel Injected V-8.This truck was purchased a few years ago, out of Dallas, TX by the previous owner. It is a solid truck and has all original metal. No rust. The previous owner was a regular at Caffeine & Carburetors in New Canaan, CT, where the truck drew a strong crowd. The truck is always garaged, both at home and at work, but I drive it frequently, so it does have some small blemishes. It was painted Targa Blue about 2 years ago. It was outfitted with new emblems from Toyota, new stainless steel hood latches, new windshield latches, and a billet aluminum hood ornament. The truck drives smoothly: * This truck always starts up: no hesitation; no pumping the gas (fuel injection) * The power steering and power disc brakes make it easy to drive. * It shifts smoothly. * 4WD works great. * Engine Mileage: 10,400 * Chassis Mileage when engine was installed: ~112,000 Many upgrades: * New master/slave clutch cylinder * New starter * 4 wheel disc brakes * GM power steering * Rebuilt 1974 Toyota 4 speed transmission with a Ranger Torque Splitter for a 27% overdrive on the highway * Rebuilt 1976 4 speed transfer case * Shackle Reversal kit with 2.5" new front springs and 4" rear springs * 4 stock Toyota steel wheels and new hub caps with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A (33X10.50X15 BFG KM2’s) * Pioneer stereo with auxiliary port * Custom subwoofer in Jerry Gas Can * Custom Gauges * Front Toyota bucket seats recovered with head rests * Center console (Tuffy) with lock system for storage. Included in the sale: * Full hardtop: white top panel with sides painted in matching Corvette Targa Blue * Pair of full hard-doors, painted in matching Corvette Targa Blue * Full custom soft top with bows/frame Potential for inclusion in the sale: * 5 aluminum rims with 4 Futura Dakota RVT (33X12.50X15) * Full second roll-bar * Bikini top w/ zipper-window panel for behind driver/passenger * Pair of full soft-doors (black) * Second vinyl reproduction soft-top with bows * Rear bench seat * Pair of fender flares Issues: * Fuel gauge is not accurate: shouldn’t be hard to adjust the float but I generally just fill it up at 1/2 tank. * Emergency brake is dialed out because it was rubbing a bit. I haven't explored the cause. I really hate to sell this truck, and it’s been a difficult decision, but I’m driving further to work these days and it’s hard to justify putting those miles on this kind of vehicle. If I could keep it as an extra car, I would. Because it’s for sale locally, there’s a chance that I’ll have to end the auction early — without advanced notice or explanation. If possible, I encourage you to come see/drive the vehicle but, if you had to purchase it sight-unseen, I can't see how anyone would be disappointed. eBay doesn't have an option for title-doesn't-exist but the state of CT doesn't require a title for vehicles older than 1981. If your state differs, you can get a replacement issued.
