Vehicle Detail

For sale is my trustworthy 1990 Land Cruiser. I purchased this vehicle in 1997 from the original owner. I have maintained this truck for the past 18 years. I never took the Landcruiser "off road", but it has seen a lot of highway action. From NJ, truck took my family and I to several summer vacations up in Maine. Drove it down to South Carolina several times to visit family. It has been a wonderfully reliable vehicle, never broke down on any trips. Never really used as a commuter vehicle, as Ive always used public transportation for work. Hauled the family around town. Also hauled materials from Home Depot, helped friends move furniture into their new apartments, etc. Its a very versatile vehicle, if you never owned one. Having that back tailgate drop down and the window open up is so much better than the single hatch that opens up on all the other SUVs out there. Now that this truck can be insured as a historic vehicle (25 yrs old this year), its poised to become a collectors vehicle. You hardly see these on the road or even for sale. And I get compliments everywhere I drive it, so its an attention getter as well. So here is the overall condition of the vehicle at this time. FYI this truck is all original/stock. I have made no modifications to the suspension, wheels, motor or anything else. PROS: the truck runs fantastic. I have changed the oil every 3k miles religiously. No leaks of any kind - water, oil, exhaust, etc. Truck drives down the street as it always has - fine. Recent repairs done in the past year include a brand new radiator, brand new alternator, brand new windshield, two new tires. Installed two new bumper ends, as well as new front signal lights, which somehow broke and fell off truck somewhere. Just had truck fully serviced in December and gone over by mechanic who thinks its in great running shape. CONS: a truck this old, being used daily, of course has some issues. First off, there is some rust in several spots, which Ive taken pictures of and included here. The worst is probably the drivers door. Rust is in the door corner and has eaten away at this pretty good. Its not really that visible from outside, but you can see in the pic its significant. Paint is bubbling in some other spots. Some other rust spots in back along the edges. These trucks are prone to rust and considering this has never been garaged and has spent its entire life in NJ, it could be much worse. Dashboard is very nice. All gauges work. Cassette in radio does not work. Interior is in decent condition. Small tear in drivers seat (pic). Some scuff marks on door panel and in tail gate. Rugs are okay. It could use a good cleaning and would probably look much better. Paint is in pretty decent shape. There are several nicks and scratches from being in parking lots along the sides of the truck. Truck never in an accident. The air conditioner has a pinhole leak in the system somewhere. I have freon put in it every spring. The AC blows cold and works great... until the freon leaks out, usually in September. I just put more freon in it in the following Spring. The 4WD is not working. It was working fine 2 years ago. Last year I engaged it as I always do, and nothing happened. The button on the dash use to light up when you pressed it - now it doesn't. When the system was engaged you would hear the wheels lock into place - you don't hear that now. Its almost like the unit is not getting power. It could be something minor, or it could be something else. I have no idea what is wrong with it - Im selling truck as is, so its up to the next owner to figure that out. Note: you don't have to have 4WD to drive it daily. It drives fine using just the 2WD. If you have any other questions, please email me. If you want to see more pictures, please email me. No low ball offers. I'm in no rush to sell this truck. These trucks are becoming rare and are most likely going to be highly collectible in the near future like their 2 door FJ40 counterparts! Serious Land Cruiser buyers only! Winner of auction to send me a $500 deposit within 48 hours of end of auction. Balance of money to be given to me prior to pick up of vehicle. Winner of auction is responsible for picking up vehicle. I can assist in delivery if buyer is local only.
