This little Ranger has lived a very well cared for life. Most of these 4x4's were ridden hard and put away wet, thus you don't see many of them around especially in this condition. This little Ranger shows it was taken care of from day 1. First purchased by a local fireman and used to go fishing and to work, and then purchased in 1992 by John Y....., and kept by that owner until this year. After having it for 20+ years he decided to, although it was in good condition, have it restored to " better than new" for his wife who had come to view it as HER truck. They were planning to keep it another 20 years, however they transferred to New York to care for family, and had to sell many things to do so, and that included their little Ranger. The auto-check report gives the all clear on the truck, except in 1994 a car merging from the left lane hit the left front fender, a genuine fender bender! It was the only damaged area and it was replaced. It is the only panel replaced all others are original factory parts. John owns a local Air Condition Co. and for some of the restoration work he traded his service, for their service, and did as much of the work as he could, so its been kinda hard to put a figure on the cost of the restoration, but as you look at the quality, of the work as well as how extensive the restoration is I think you will agree it would probably be somewhere close to, 20 grand . What ever it is, it makes you wonder who would put that kind of money and effort into an 89 Ranger. Well , he did and here is an opportunity to have the best 1989 Ranger 4x4 XLT in the country, for less than half the cost, of just the restoration. Here's the restoration list, they first pulled the engine and sent it to Hoods Machine shop where it was disassembled, dipped and completely machined and re-built. The automatic overdrive transmission was sent to Kustom Transmission and re-built, and new ceramic coated exhaust was installed. The 60-40 bench seat was sent to Wade Cuff Interiors and covered in leather. The interior has new carpet, dash cover, and headliner, all the rest is original and as you can see like new. All the gauges, lights, horns, etc. function as they should. The bumpers and wheels are original and in excellent condition. The headlights, taillights, front grill, windshield, are new. Also new rubber seals and bumpers. New exterior and interior door handles, new window handles. The tailgate center piece was powder coated to look like factory original and be more durable as the factory finish dulled an became yellowish. New shocks and the Michelin LTZ tires give an excellent quiet, soft ride. The beautiful paint job is Dupont Cromobase Blue Flame Effect, and Silver Ignot Effect, both are newer Ford colors. Notice under the hood, instead of using the black fiberglass hood liner, he used aircraft firewall material, cost a lot more and looks and functions a lot better also, just another attention to detail he used. Probably forgetting some things, but as you look closely at the pictures you can see it looks like it is a show truck. It handles great, steers straight, stops straight, AC blows cold, rides very well, and the sound system is awesome. It has a pioneer receiver with cd player, 4 Morel speakers, and a Carver amp. Forgot to mention... The engine and transmission both have less than 600 miles, and were re-built last year.
