Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this 1959 Chevy Apache NAPCO pickup. The truck is pretty rare when you consider all the options it comes with: 1959 Chevy Apache SWB. NAPCO 4x4 transfer case and front axle Fleetside big back glass 4 speed tranny heater option 2 speed wiper blade option *special dealer trim along the bottom of the bed, door and front fender. (painted diamond plate) I’ve never seen this trim on any other truck. The only reason I believe this option to be a “dealer add on” is because it’s not welder to the truck... it’s actually bolted to the truck with screws that go through the trim and secure from the back. The diamond plate was also cut/bent/fit to the truck very accurately (not something your average garage/shop can do). From my research on these NAPCO, most were ordered to be mountain trucks with very few options. This one is the only one I’ve ever seen that came as a NAPCO but also got some other sweet options to go along with it. This truck has been in my family beginning in the late 60’s until now. We always dreamed of restoring it to new but have recently realized that we don’t have the time or resources to see that dream come true. Although it’s never been fully restored, I have managed to keep it running and driving. I got the truck from my cousin in 2010 and have slowly worked on it until now. Here’s a brief description of the new parts that I’ve added to it most recently: New tank, fuel filters, fuel tank cap, fuel pump, Zenith 228 carb, battery, battery cables, radiator hoses, air cleaner, spark plugs, spark plug wires, pertronics points eliminator system, CCP brake booster system, new brake line parts, flush the system and put in new brake fluid, new door seals, new felt for windows, new bed parts (still in the box), new bed rails, bed rail bolt kit, new front and rear bumpers, bumper mount kits, new headliner and rubber seal. All in all, I’ve spent about $3,000.00 on parts over the past 4 years just to get it in decent, running condition. All the new parts that aren’t installed and old parts that came off the truck will go with it. Electrical: Just about everything works as it should. Lights, high/low beam, turn signals, all gauges (except temp), the speedometer will need a new cable. Engine and Tranny: the engine is the original 235 straight 6. The engine runs good, transmission shifts like it’s supposed to. I’ve driven this truck around the block once every few weeks for the last 1-2 years and it’s always ready to go. I did get it out last year and run it up to 55-60 mph. All the gears shifted like they should. Also, I’ve been told that this is a “matching numbers” truck but I’m not sure where to look to verify that. Paint/Interior: Overall the truck looks pretty cool with the old paint and new paint/chrome parts mixed in. The engine bay and front end have some new paint that looks decent. I recommend you coming to look at the truck if you’re interested. I’d also not recommend driving the truck back to where ever you live. This is an old pick up that needs alot of work to be road worthy for 100+ miles. ***I’ll require a $500.00 deposit to be paid via paypal at the end of the auction with the remaining balance due at the time of pickup***. Shipping will be your responsibility. I’ll help where ever I can but will not recommend a trucking company nor will I make phone calls to arrange a carrier, ect... I also have a photobucket account with 50+ additional pictures but I couldn't figure out exactly how eBay wants the link, so they wouldn't allow it in my listing. Sorry, maybe if you message me I can send you a link in a message. Please email if you have any questions! I have a reserve on this truck which I won’t disclose. Good luck bidding! Thanks, Craig On Dec-15-14 at 17:58:46 PST, seller added the following information: Someone sent me a question and asked me to add a picture of the tag on the drivers side inner door jam. (picture added) The picture states that the truck has a max GVW of 5600 lbs, Paint code is "710A", Trim is "STD" and Wheelbase is "114". Also, for those that are interested, the VIN number says "3A 59J121673". Also, I don't have those high dollar chrome bed spears... wish I did! :) Thanks,Craig
