Vehicle Detail
Backdrafts are not just kit cars, they are turnkey cars that come assembled from the factory. You have a selection of engines, transmissions and other components. This is critical in eliminating worries that corners may have been cut in the build process. All Backdraft Cobra's are built to very high quality standards and are unparalleled in the replica car world. For starters, Backdraft's are built on a BMW M3 chassis with independent front and rear suspension, a giant front sway bar and rack and pinion steering. Doors, hood and trunk are double skinned for added rigidity. Steel inserts are added in key areas for added durability and strength. Frame is 2"x4" rectangular steel frame with 3mm wall thickness. Only Backdraft's have deep leg tunnels to fit drivers up to 6'4". Extra heat insulation is added around the floor tunnel to keep heat out of the passenger compartment. Build No: 1064 (2011) Engine and Transmission: Roush 427R/997 Crate Engine 500 HP/506 ft. lbs. Torque Ford Racing Sportmans Block, SFI Billet Steel Flywheel Forged Crank and H Beam Rods, FMS Spark Plug Wires, Roush CNC Ported Cylinder Heads, Braided Fuel Line, Hydraulic Roller Cam, 10.25:1 Compression, 1.6 Roller Rockers, Single Plane Intake, 770 Holly Dual Pumper Carb, Edelbrock High Rise Maniford, MSD: Ignition, Coil and Distributor and Full Engine Polish. Tremec TKO 600 Manual Tran. (5) Speed, Steel Bell Housing, Hydraulic Slave Cylinder and Dual Performance Clutch. Additional Equipment: Driver Roll Bar, Ray Dot Driver and Passenger Mirrors, 4 Point Red Racing Harness w/Backdraft Cobra Identification, Ceramic Coated Headers and Side Pipes, External Oil Cooler, 3M Clear Protective Film Paint Protector in Key Areas, Gillmore Polished Drive Pulleys, Moto-lita Wood Steering Wheel, Custom Tourneau Cover, Roush Racing Valve Covers, Top Loader Gear Shift, Shelby Cobra Brand 17" Rims w/Knock Off Spinners, 17" Nitto NT05 Racing Tires. There is no sound like a ported, roller cam 427 engine with that deep rumble through headers and straight side pipes. When accelerating, it will take your breath away. Park it next to some exotic costing $$$$$$$$ more and you will see which car receives the most attention, compliments and photos! Hands down this Shelby Cobra wins every time. This Cobra has never been raced, rallied, rained on or spend much time on an interstate. Tourneau cover and car cover fit easily in the trunk if needed. This Roush 427R has been carefully cared for. All service work has been performed by Hurricane Performance in Jacksonville, FL.. The engine runs very strong and has never over heated with it's aluminum radiator and thermostatically controlled electric fans. All Backdraft Cobra's are titled as "1965". Classic car insurance companies classify these vehicles as a classic 1965 resulting in significant savings over regular car insurance. Built as a race car at a total weight of approximately 2,200 pounds, Backdraft Cobra's mean business. I have never had a car that I have enjoyed so much. The car is awesome fun to drive and the sound of the engine is amazing.
