“MAGNIFICENT / 2 OWNER ” *FACTORY 1968 WZ CODE PONTIAC FIREBIRD 400 {4 SPD}* “STUNNING RARE” BEAUTIFUL ALEUTIAN BLUE! {330/H.P.} STRATO BUCKETS PHS documented! 57K MILES! Please do not bid on this vehicle unless you have immediate funds available! If you have quuestions feel free to call. 314-497-9470.Seriously interested parties are encourgaed to call. To those that recognize a great deal & a good opportunity when you see one “consider this an early Christmas Present”!!! Being an ultra excited classic car enthusiast has led me to appreciate special cars through the years. I am not easily impressed by every vintage car that I come across. That being said I was overwhelmed & truly moved when I stumbled upon this particular Firebird! This RARE 2 owner Poncho gets a gold star when it comes to beauty & being unique! Getting right into it: This vehicle was actually ordered by the original owner. The second owner explained how he had to pry the car away from the hands of the original owner! He explained how the first gentleman actually sold his 1964 Impala SS to purchase this car. The story seemed quite interesting but, it ended on a sour note for him as he had to leave his dream car for a higher calling {his job…he transferred to St. Paul MN}. His stay ended up being a little longer than he expected so the car sat in a climate controlled garage for approx 5 years. Fast Forward: When he finally came home he changed the fluids & started driving the vehicle again. It seems that this visit also became a short lived because he was promoted shortly thereafter & moved further up north. The ole Bird was subsequently parked again for quite a while. Upon his final return it seems he enjoyed the car for a short time but eventually needed a bigger vehicle as he began to build a family. He decided to place the car for sale. It found a place to call home with the second owner in the state of Missouri in 2004. The second owner had several classic cars but explained how this one had a quickly found a special place in his heart. He also told how his wife loved driving the car {has to be true of all the cars that he owned it was the only one with her name also on the title}. Upon acquiring the car he stated how he enjoyed taking the Firebird to local shows. Some time later he decided that it was time to restore the car. Father time had began to take its toll on the factory Aleutian Blue finish. Later on since the obvious was becoming more evident he had the car painted {in 2009}. The paint was designed to match the exact color that the Firebird left the assembly line with. This feat was made simple as he contacted Roberts Pontiac {located in KS} who was known to be one of few Dealerships in the US who specialzed in Firebird restorations. The final product was nothing short of amazing. The brilliant blue exterior is drop dead gorgeous! He actually received a couple of trophies before he parked the car again in 2011. At this time I have to say that I don’t know if I receive more compliments about the car itself or the color! The old & young crowd alike seem to really take well to this vintage vehicle! You won’t be able to make it a city block without hearing “nice car sir….or getting the thumbs up from onlookers”! The car is absolutely gorgeous! Now I must say that even though I am pretty picky “everyones judgement regarding paint is subjective”. I feel comfortable in saying that this one can easily at least be coined driver quality. The previous owner decided to restore the interior shortly after the paint job was complete. However his zeal for perfection seems to have been stymied by a new project {bass boat}. The vehicles original teal interior was removed but never completely replaced. The seat covers that you see on the car now were replaced in 2004 when he acquired the car with plans of changed the interior color to black. The interior can be restored pretty easily. Most of the original pieces come with the car. I could install it within a hour. That being said I will just include it with the sale as I am sure that the new owner will probably want to take this Bird to the next level. Once gain this can be done pretty easily. This car still has the factory glass with the original screaming chicken insignia on the windows. All inspections welcome. It also has a “no hit accident free body”! Hard to find that in a 45 year old vehicle. This Pontiac has an absolutely gorgeous show quality vinyl top! There’s not a single rust bubble underneath Effecting its shape. It was ordered with a black viyln top as shown in the Pontiac PHS documentation. The stainless trim & bright work surrounding the top is in great condition as well. The chrome bumpers are still nice as well. Finally I would like to mention that this vehicle runs extremely strong & can easily hold it’s on from “stop light to stop light”! I am sure the same could be said for the track! The car doesn’t feel like it has begun to open up until it hits 60 mph! The Pontiac 400 is a formidable block! These cars best the Camaro SS 396 cars in 1968 {in motor trend}! This car still has plenty of torque & produces a good deal of Horse Power! I believe that the car still retains its original block. Not sure {don’t purchase the car predicating the sale on identifying numbers…. I won’t be looking}. I must admit I am very impressed with the cars performance! There’s no ambiguity involved when you fire this baby up “You’re driving a Muscle Car”! There are absolutely no hard starts when engaging the car either. With just a few pats of the accelerator & slightest twist of the key she springs to life! The motor breathes freely through a dual chambered Exhaust system! The belts & radiator hose are fairly new. “ALL GM MATERIAL”! This one is dressed with factory chrome valve covers that are in excellent shape & the original air cleaner. The air cleaner lid was originally chrome but the base is factory. I can assure you that when you hit the road you can do so with confidence thanks in part to the Ralley II wheels at all four corners! The tires are in great shape & the vehicle handles nice! From bumper to bumper this Vintage Ponch presents itself quite well! This is most certainly an investment grade vehicle that can be enjoyed for years to come! Take this queen to the next level with little effort or replace the carpet and door panels & enjoy it as is. Either way you will be the envy of the neighborhood! Whatever you decide to do with this wonderful Firebird plenty of fun & enjoyment will be on tap! RUST FREE ORIGINAL UNDERBODY & ACCIDENT FREE!!! {rocker covers, declutching fan, hood scoops, floor shift, dual exhaust, vanity mirror, console, soft ray glass}! I am a serious believer in the saying “you get what you pay for”. All things considered I have set a very fair reserve on this car & I also have a very reasonable buy it now in place.
