4.2L 1995 Range Rover County LWB 67K original miles Overview: Here she is: your investment class, 1-owner from Beverly Hills, time-warp, fully-serviced, rare-optioned, rust-free, super low-mile 4.2L 1995 RRC LWB!!! This has been an amazing year here at WorldProvenLr. From the $55K Defender to the $5500 7-Seater Disco 2, I have had the pleasure to make a lot of great new relationships and provide an array of enthusiasts the world over, the Rover of their dreams. Now let’s talk about yours… This vehicle came to me from a long-time client with an exceptional collection of Land Rovers. With nearly 12 of them garaged in their Beverly Hills Estate, they decided to make some room for a new 2015 full-sized and I was more than happy to get the call regarding this one. If you have waited, researched, yearned for a 95 ONLY model with all original equipment in perfect working order, then your ship has literally just come in. While the 2014 year has allowed me to offer several wonderful RRC’s, I truly felt in the back of my mind that a truck like this would never again be found. Their numbers are dwindling, yet here she is. It seems then, that I am fortunate enough to save and present the best, for last! While Black Friday may have seen you doing battle to acquire the perfect gifts for those on your Holiday shopping list, you are now in the comfort of your own home (maybe even with the door to the office closed!): So perhaps it’s time to consider indulging in something for yourself. After-all, where will you fit all of those presents and with already record-breaking snowfall, get them safely to grand-ma’s house!!!??? Service History: As a Land Rover technician whose passion for the marque continually inspires my craft, I always use the best genuine parts and expert skill with their fitment. With a truck like this, some may be interested in the level of service it has received. Did you know, the factory scheduled mileage for a headgasket service is 60K miles? Few sellers, or so-called technicians do! Service means reliability. Reliability is your key to long-term product enjoyment. Anyone who has a Land Rover will tell you the same, and perhaps you already have a few yourself and understand this already. As a fellow collector, then as a technician, in addition to the insights which come from my RACING Range Rover Classics, the following is my signature service list which I believe to be the key to your long-term love affair with a vehicle such as this. Why? I want you to have a GREAT TRUCK. Complete 3 angle valve job and head gasket service including: cooling system fluid flush and renewal, head gasket renewal, head stretch bolt renewal, intake resealed, valve covers resealed, exhaust system resealed, engine oil and GENUINE filter renewed. $2250 value30K mile interval service including: genuine spark plugs, New STI spark plug wires, New air element, new cap/rotor/coil, new Belt, Differential fluids renewed, swivel service, transfer case fluid renewed, transmission fluid renewed, fuel filter renewed, all safety components inspected and adjusted to factory spec. $895 valueEAS system inspection and service. $450 valueBrand New factory radiator. $650 valueBrand New factory Waterpump. $400Brand New factory brake pads installed all around. $450 valueBrand New Engine Oil Cooler Lines fitted. $400 valueAC System Service $350 valueConcourse Quality Vehicle Detail. $400 valueBrand New Michelin XM+S Original Tyres fitted all around. I have PDF’s available of the CARFAX and SMOG certificate. Please contact me and I WILL SEND THEM TO YOU!!! Also…. Priceless!!! Operation and Aesthetics: First impressions mean everything and immediately, you’ll notice that every lavish detail appointed to the 95 vintage ONLY still retains is factory fresh appearance. Notice the Harmon Kardon speaker covers. They ARE PERFECT. Typically these are destroyed from years of fancy foot work shoving open the front doors. The dash still has its original luster (there is no interior dressing on it!). The seat bases and mouldings are perfect. The Range Rover floor sills are uncracked, unscuffed, and perfect. The Sorrel Beige interior is incredibly clean and the wood-work still glistens and provides an added feeling of warmth. This Beluga Black 95 LWB was considered by most to be the flagship package in 95 and it retains nothing less than its stately performance and appearance. Enter on command with perfectly working Central-Locking. Fire her right up and the fully serviced 4.2L V8 roars to life. With just a slight step on the accelerator you are off in a flash. This truck surges onto the motorways with TOTAL CONFIDENCE and has no ticks, stumbles, overheating issues, or high-speed wanderings of any kind. Perfectly working EAS provides an unrivalled ride and handling experience that truly unleashes the European sport-touring nature of the Range Rover via crisp, decisive, and plush handling. Take a long looping freeway interchange at 90+ mph and the confidence of this truck will make any auto enthusiast smile. The air suspension CONSTANTLY adjusts to all driving conditions and eliminates virtually all body roll and sway. For me personally, I love riding at max height in city traffic as it enables me to see way over traffic!!! It is an experience that cannot be beat and should be celebrated when available in a vehicle such as this since most examples now have gone the way of coil-conversions – making quality EAS something of distant memory. The transmission is smooth with no winding and there is no binding from the transfer-case viscous unit. I’ve commuted with it in grueling LA traffic – there is absolutely NO overheating from this truck. All power options work as they should: memory seats, memory mirrors, windows, lights, sunroof, safety MFCU’s, and all. All lamps and lenses are unspoiled and uncracked. The lamp guards and brushbar are perfect. The AC works brilliantly and the heat is perfect without any offending smells inside the cabin. That said, this is also A NON SMOKER VEHICLE and with its recent upholstery service and professional detail, she still smells like a new car. This vehicle is a blast to drive for many reasons. It performs as you would expect from a vehicle of this caliber and all of the distinctive features of this one year only model are in excellent condition. DRIVING THIS TRUCK: A little more here about driving this truck. Something wonderful, almost spiritual happens to a car when they graduate from the rigors of my service campaign to a WorldProven Land Rover. I drove her to the photo shoot early Thanksgiving morning. Not a car on the road. I. OWNED. THIS. CITY. Driving a Range Rover Classic as good as this one will literally make you cheer while driving it. Windows down, premium factory Harmon-Kardon audio CRANKED and this truck just takes on a life of its own. By the time the shoot was over, and I was cruising back through Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive in-fact, I couldn’t keep count of all the envious looks I was getting. Why? Yes, they were top of the line luxury back then…. But there is an added layer of distinction now because there simply aren’t many left! She is ready for the next 20 years and beyond, and she at least gets to spend the next week if – WITH ME! Body, Chassis & Coachwork: Overall this vehicle is gorgeous. The alloy TWR wheels offered in 1995 are in excellent shape and add to this trucks impressive appearance. Fitted here are the original Michelin XM+S tyres. This is what the vehicle left England with. I save 5th wheel spares for such applications. They are hidden from the environment and perfectly preserved. Why do I install them? If you have never ridden in a RRC with those tyres, your first “go” will tell you why they were chosen by the factory. They are unbelievably quiet and comfortable, while offering EXTREME traction and agility. It is something that every RRC lover should experience at least once in a truck like this and it is a shame they don’t exist anymore! The legendary Soft-Dash is in tidy shape with no gouges, rips or curl. The instrument cluster bezel is PERFECT (they are always destroyed). Additionally, the chrome bumpers are in pristine order and even the front bumpers push-pads are intact (they are almost always missing). Further south, the fog-light/air-dam is uncracked and perfect. The Range Rover fog-light covers are clear, uncracked and fit perfect. The rugs are clean and soft as is the original leather. All Range Rover embroidery is tight, clean, and unfrayed. The front seats are in astonishingly good condition and display what happens to quality materials when cared for appropriately. Please notice the texture shot of the leather. It is factory-fresh and soft. Any wear in the leather is minor to non-existent. Note the highlighted pictures of the door sills, upper tailgate corner, hinges and jambs. These are all critical areas for corrosion on the Range Rover Classics and they are present here in near perfect condition. The vehicle is proudly drip free and you should consider it nice driveway safe! The paint is touchably smooth and as pictured, polishes up great. Its luster is deep and glossy and creates an executive level appearance. Like most older Californians who have seen their fair share of the sun, you will see the expected surface blemishes for the age but as this truck is still all original without any cosmetic surgery, she can still wow the camera and the fans at red carpet appearances! Any wear & tear, fade, dings, dents, chips, pock marks, etc are all of the normal variety to be expected of a loyal companion that has been outside and in service for nearly 20 years!!! To recap, this is a straight, original, rot free, clean and comfortable Range Rover that I would be otherwise proud to own. Thoughts on EAS: Air suspension. Perhaps the most widely debated topic in Range Rover history. Some love it. Some hate it. Some vouch for its reliability and comfort. Some curse its introduction to an already amazing suspension system. Personally, I love it. The purist in me enjoys the feature when working correctly. Long-gone are the days when you can find a 93-95 with working EAS. At the first signs of needing basic service, most people opt-out and…no pun intended… spring for coils: Usually the mark of an intimidated mechanic. To find an example such as this, with the EAS functioning as well as it does, is a testament to the LASTING ability of a quality product when in the hands of a loving enthusiast. Please note the 3 pictures featuring Wade depth, Standard Height and access mode!!! I am confident that you can, and should, enjoy this benchmark feature for a long time to come. About 95 RRC’s: An excerpt from the 1970 RRC magazine article: The 4WD Range Rover is a new dimension, a sort of cross-country luxury sedan with such reserves of power and agility that one acquires an almost dangerous complacency in the ability to go wherever one wants… You would almost think they are talking about the 95. Indeed, the innovation which defined the RR back then became the ideology to which the RR would always aspire & posses. That 1970 original article is a treasure and comes from my personal collection of Range Rover memorabilia. Why? I believe it truly belongs with a vehicle like this. The article’s content is a stunning harbinger of what would eventually be realized in the 1995 model. I know you will enjoy it as much as I have. It’s an interesting point to make here: The Range Rovers have ALWAYS influenced the rest of the Land Rover Line. For example, the ladder chassis and suspension would eventually become the platform for the discovery. In 2003 – with the launch of the MKIII Full Size Range Rover – Discovery 2’s were still on the showroom floor. The 03/04 D2’s were given the same aggressive headlamp style that can be found on Range Rovers even to this day. But to my original point: The 95 RRC’s were truly special because for the 1st and ONLY time in its history, the Range Rover received styling inspiration from the Land Rover. Known as the “Soft-Dash,” The impressive in cabin appearance owes much to the Discovery’s own Soft-Dash design as it too was introduced at that time with the Range Rover. 1995 was a milestone in Range Rover history and will always serve as an investment point for collectors. For many, the 95 LWB is the crowning achievement to the Range Rover Classic line. It has all of the upgrades and refinements of 25 years worth of development and yet, in true Range Rover form, it embraces new innovation and design while exhibiting all of its heritage in one coherent work. This vehicle is a PROUD representative of that pedigree. Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me: No one puts a Range Rover Classic together better than me, PERIOD. It’s the vehicle I drive, and the vehicle I RACE. Nearly two decades of Classic ownership and service are poured into every Classic (and every Rover) that I see into new hands. All too common are sales from the brokerage houses where a vehicle will receive a detail service and nothing else. Leaving maintenance work for the pleasure of the new owner; often time’s immediately following reception of the vehicle. Beware of any Classic that does not share the same service points as the ones I advertise with my trucks. They are ESSENTIAL for long term reliability and any Classic without these services are ticking time bombs. I am not a Land Rover tech that drives home in a Honda Civic. I come from a long line of British Car technicians and Live, Breathe and even RACE the green oval. I understand ALL of your concerns and needs and do my best to ensure that you will be happy based on a simple, yet powerful concept: DOES THIS VEHICLE MAKE ME HAPPY? WOULD I PUT MY WIFE AND BABY IN IT? WOULD I LOVE TO HAVE IT? The answer is always yes. And that’s when I know they are ready. I care. I know you do, too. Vehicles that I see off not only have domestic endpoints, they go to the farthest reaches of the planet. They have gone to Europe, Asia, The South Pacific, Central America and currently, a client recently purchased a trail-ready 88 RRC and is en route to Tierra Del Fuego after I picked him up in the vehicle at LAX when he flew in to receive it! The point here is, I believe in each and every vehicle that I usher in to new ownership. Please see my recent vehicle sales and I’m sure you’ll be impressed. While these vehicles are all totally looked after, they are not immune to future service needs and flaws. They are used vehicles and normal flaws and wear should be expected as the vast majority of them are pushing 20+ years old. I invite you to ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS NOW! There are no queries too obscure; your satisfaction is the goal here. Additionally, eBay offers a 3rd party inspection service to verify ALL of your acquisition needs IN PERSON. Purchase of the vehicle = SATISFACTION. Once this auction is over, the winning bid and purchase imply that satisfaction has been achieved and will be understood as such. There are no warranties offered here, but that said, there is always an unspoken “hand-shake” warranty meaning that should something fail within a reasonable amount of time – say a hose, a coilpack, a distributor, blower motors, an alternator, a switch, etc – I will be happy to send you what I have available at that time. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so you are bidding to win! Please make sure that you bid ONLY what you are prepared to pay. This means, when the auction is over, and the winning bid is placed, this becomes THE SALE PRICE of the vehicle. Under no circumstances does it open the door to negotiate or back out of your commitment. The people bidding for this vehicle actually want it. Do not spoil their chances at ownership by arm-chair bidding. Yes, everyone joins eBay at some point, and there is no prejudice against lower transaction numbers here – HOWEVER – if I suspect and/or become aware of any insincerity on the part of said bidder, I reserve the right to cancel all bids from and block that insincere bidder from this auction. Completion of this transaction is fairly straight forward. Once the auction is over, I will be contacting the winner immediately and we can discuss the easiest way to finalize the transition. Who is this truck for? For either the Range Rover Collector, enthusiast, or even initiate looking for their “first taste of green,” this truck is an ideal candidate. It’s supremely clean, functional, reliable, and echoes proudly the purpose for which it was built. It can make an excellent daily driver. A summer guest vehicle. A Holiday or special occasion coach or dare I even suggest – the ultimate original equipment, time-warp luxury off-road build project? The 95’s were distinctive all the way. With the invariable march of time, trucks like this are getting harder and harder to find. Nearly impossible. Fortunately, this fine example has surfaced and more importantly has been put through its service paces. It’s here for the next seven days… and all you have to do is make it yours. Whatever your reason, this vehicle is ready to show you what this legendary and now timeless model is all about. Here’s to making the road ahead look great: from whatever vantage point you choose!!! Best of luck, Happy Holidays and Happy Rovering!
