Except for the bed, this is an all original 1938 Chevy Stake bed truck with 5822 miles. You will be the third owner of this truck. Here is the story of this truck. A church on the west coast of Michigan bought this truck new, and used it to transport fruit to the market. They had it until 1969. The gentleman that bought it in 1969 used it for parades and auto shows. He had it until he died. The son didn't want to keep the truck so I got it running, and I am putting up for sale. This is a solid original truck and see the description below. Exterior:The exterior is complete. You will rarely find a truck in this condition. The emblems, the hubcaps, and even the tires look original and hold air. There is very minimum surface rust that you can see in the detailed photos. There are only two dents. There is one on the left fender, and one on the left headlamp housing. See photos. Runnings boards have some minimal rust, but very solid. Rocker panels, bottom of the doors, and floor panels are all solid. The bed of the truck:Was replaced by second owner. There is original wood under the bed of the truck. What is pictured of the bed is the luan the second owner installed. The bed is in perfect shape as you can see from the photos. Interior: All original gauges and they are in exceptional shape. Windshield cranks out easily. All original hardware. Door windows go up and down with ease. Drivers side window is cracked. Upholstery I am not sure about, but there is some fraying and they are in fair condition. Floorboards are solid. Battery tray is rusty, but there is a 6 volt new battery!! Motor:Straight six original motor. Running! We got it running with new oil, battery, and squirting gas in the carburetor and vehicle comes with carburetor kit. We did not attempt any restoration to this vehicle. We have not tried to drive the truck, and we can only guarantee that the truck will start. Transmission:Transmission shifts, and the owner told me that it was running and driving until the father passed away a few years ago.
