Vehicle Detail

Vintage 1927 Ford Model T Depot Hack on rebuilt original running gear and engine. Manufacturer’s serial number 14130234. I worked with my father on the restoration including the chassis, engine, running gear, fenders, running boards, wheels, painting, radiator, gas tank, etc. The original PA A code (antique motor vehicle) title is dated 05-26-72. New PA A code title in my name is dated 2/28/12. It is one of two complete Ford Model T Depot Hacks rebuilt from the ground up including new wood bodies, seats, hardware, side curtains, accessories, etc. Dad worked with noted Gettysburg, PA cabinet maker, Bob Dietrick, on the bodies. The body patterns were taken from an original Depot Hack in Frederick, MD and they built several bodies in varying configurations. This variation uses a single piece of finished plywood with black lines on the inside of the top and the bed and to replicate the individual wood slats used in the original. Body side panels have solid wood partitions over the finished plywood. The restoration was undertaken make the vehicle reliable and presentable but not intended for show. The previous registration sticker is dated 1988 and the PA inspection sticker is dated 4/89. I recently had the vehicle registered in PA using restored vintage PA 1927 license plates. This car was always garaged and driven frequently during the 1972 to 1988 period on trips over the Gettysburg battlefield, local camping trips, Hershey antique car show, etc. and until recently was last driven sometime in the early 1990’s. I moved the car to another storage facility three years ago. Since this vehicle was last listed a few months ago, it has been put back in running condition. New 6V battery, new fan belt, gas tank acid washed inside, cooling system drained, flushed and refilled 50/50 antifreeze, oil drained and refilled, rebuilt generator, (runs on battery and magneto) coils tested/replaced as needed, key switch replaced, inside of carb bowl bead blasted, replaced cooling system impeller manifold and radiator hoses. Engine starts easily and runs well. Started weekly for the last 6 weeks. Car has been driven and the hand/foot clutch, 1st & 2nd speeds, reverse and brake works. The metal/wood body needs washed/cleaned as it is still in as stored condition. Pictures were taken prior to aforementioned work. There is some separation to the wood roof interior on the left side and front due to water ingress while in the original storage area. The black fabric top cover appears in good overall condition and probably need waterproofing. The black side curtains are in place as pictured but need stretched to close completely as they were stored in the rolled up position. I have been successful with a few snaps but most are very taught. Body/chassis is still relatively rust free with some areas of chipping and flaking. Most noticeable rust is to/around the engine area and exhaust system. There is a vertical crack in the upper windshield starting near the windshield wiper. There is a double spare tire mount on the left running board with a spare tire/rim. Vehicle is still set up in the original 6V DC configuration with electric start. Tail light is inplace but bulbs are missing from headlamps. Due to the vehicles age it is being sold as is with no guarantee or warranty. Contact me via email or phone at 717-357-8799 with questions or more pictures. Vehicle is available for local pick-up/shipment only. Close of auction constitutes contract to purchase. $500 down payment is due within 3 days of auction close via PayPal, USPS Money Order or Cashiers/Certified Check. Balance is due via cashiers/certified check within 7 days of close of auction or cash at time of pickup. Funds must clear prior to pick-up/transfer of title. I can arrange to show the car during the listing period.
