Vehicle Detail

I restored this Z over the course of a couple years. This has always been a California car, the blue personalized plates attest to that. The brief history, to my knowledge, is the original owner sold it to a college student in the late 90's. When it first broke down a couple years later (aprox 117k miles), he sold it to a gentleman in Sacramento who intended to restore it. It sat in his garage for around a decade, untouched, when I purchased it in December 2010. It was a very complete, original, rust free car. The only corrosion was near the batter box, which is very normal. Almost all of the suspension and brake components are new; bushings, rotors, calipers, pads, master cylinder, front bearings, shocks, coils, soft lines, half shaft U-joints, ball joints, etc. The only things I did not replace are the rear drums, rear bearings, and inner ball joints. I re-upholstered the front seats, replaced the vinyl around the windshield, headliner and all the carpet w/ 260Z floor mats, all other vinyl was re-used and is in very nice shape. The weatherstripping is also all new. All of the original gauges are present, oil and water temp function properly. I used the speedo kit from Johns Cars, which functions well. I used the stock shifter from an auto Camaro, modified it, and wrapped it with the original Z shifter boot to keep the stock feel. The wipers and interior/exterior lights work properly, except the map light (maybe just a bulb?). The power antenna also works, but there is not a stereo or speakers installed. The LS1 w/ automatic transmission is from a 00' Trans Am w/ 73k miles. I have had no issues with the motor or trans, all conversion parts were from Johns Cars. The computer and harness are from PSI, very nice kit. I did install a R200 for the additional power. I re-used the stock gas tank and added an external fuel pump/filter/fpr, brand new gas cap that even has the rubber protection flap. There is a brand new radiator and electric fan, even in the 110 degree desert summers, I have not had a problem. The car was completely disassembled and repainted, lizard skin on the interior, undercoated and painted on the chassis. The color is similar to the original metallic Pacific Blue, but a little lighter. I intended this to be a daily driver and always built it for that purpose, but I just never drive it, the thrill for me was in the build. I want it to go to a home where it will be enjoyed and driven. I have put around 1k miles on it since completing it almost two years ago. My commute is 7 miles, but its really been a Friday car w/ occasional trips through the winding Angeles Forest Highway. That drive is amazing in this car. Issues: -The tachometer was converted by Johns Cars, but functions intermittently. -The headliner has sagged, but is intact. -I installed a new fuel level sender, but the gauge does not function correctly. I think its is a 280Z sender, but a 240Z gauge, this was a constant problem with an early 260Z resto. -The clock does not function. -The heater/fan system is completely installed and the fan functions perfectly, but I never hooked up the coolant lines to the heater core. This could be fixed easily, it has just not been a concern for me. Other non-stock components: -Yellow Top battery, 3 months old. -RIGID Industries driving lights for the late night drives PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ANY ADDITIONAL DETAILS OR PHOTOS OF SPECIFIC THINGS, I WILL PROVIDE THEM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. On Nov-15-14 at 08:14:12 PST, seller added the following information: ***Someone asked if there are any cracks in the dash, so I reviewed my photos and realized the one crack above the speedo is not visible in them. Ebay is not letting me add photos, so please message me if you want photos and I will attach them to my response. Sorry for the omission.***
