Vehicle Detail
This 1971 Pontiac Ventura was purchased new in Montclair, California at Delahoyde Pontiac. Delahoyde Pontiac opened it's doors in 1971 and this was one of the first cars off of the lot. the car was well cared for 20,000 miles until the owners passed away and left it on to their granddaughter in 1981. The car sat in a carport in Mesa, Arizona for 30 plus years. The granddaughter had always intended to restore the car and I know it meant a lot to her. I bought it in 2013 with a promise that I would restore the car. The car was all there and trunk was full of new old stock parts. I carefully took the car apart and cleaned and replaced everything that was sun damaged or dry-rotted. Pretty much new everything, too much to list. I drove the car to the Goodguys car show and entered it with the original sun blistered paint. Popular Hot Rodding Magazine was present and the car was featured in an article about "barn finds". I drove it with that cool patina for several months until I saved the money for a paint job worthy of this awesome car. The silver color was borrowed from the "Eleanor mustang" from the Gone in sixty seconds movie. This was a full on Grandma's car when I got it. I changed a few thing to make the car a little cooler. lowered stance with Detroit Speed rear leaf spring and shock kit, Dual Flowmaster style exhaust. Chrome 15 X 8 GTO wheels and wide 60 series BFG tires, Shiftworks in dash tachometer, Edelbrock intake and Street Demon 4-barel carb. HEI electronic distributor and larger radiator, black gator seats. With these simple changes, the car looks better and drives much better. The car cruises 80+ down the freeway at a little over 2000 RPM. I have the documentation from the original owner and a box A Arizona tittle to back up the mileage and history. I love this car and it is restored right. It runs perfect and It can be driven anywhere! PLEASE NOTE NEW LOWER BUY IT NOW PRICE!
