Vehicle Detail
Selling My 1950 Ford F-1 Hot Rod . This was a project started by my car club about four years ago. Over time , everyone just kinda lost interest and moved on ,so I've decided to sell it and move on to other projects. This was actually assembled and driven about three years ago. I put about 100 miles on it and had a ton of fun cruising it around .We then took it completely apart to finish little details and do the paint. This is when the interest dropped off. Over the last year or so I finally got it back together. The truck cab is a 1950 Ford F-1 with a 2" top chop ,custom dropped floor, and shaved door handles. The frame is a (highly modified) Model "A" Ford. It has been stretched 12" and dropped 8"in the center. The front has lower reinforcing bars and is using mustang II type front suspension with tubular control arms, disc brakes and manual rack and pinion steering. The front shocks , steering rack, and the steering shaft are chrome .The rear end is a 1958 Ford 9" (all new bearings and seals) with3.50 gears. There is a chrome parallel 4-bar rear suspension with adjustable chrome coil-over shocks. There are GM midsize rear disc brakes. The engine is a fresh 390 FE with a Comp Cams 280 Magnum hydraulic cam ,an Electronic ignition conversion by Petronics, and an old Offy dual quad intake .The carbs are rebuilt Holley 600's. The primary carb has electric choke . The exhaust has custom built headers with 4" dumps , and a pair of turbo mufflers (under the floors) that exit through4" megaphones that are cut through the rear corners of the cab. The trans. is a C-6 with a shift kit and a mild converter ,and uses a hurst ratchet shifter .The front fenders are '40 Ford with custom built side fill panels and supports, and the "sides" of the grille are "39 Ford ,but the center area is just open. The chopped cab has a custom dash with the instruments rolled and the center modified to accept the rear speaker grille from a '62 Chevy. The custom 4' bed has trailer type fenders and 4" bed rolls ,with '59 Cadillac taillights and a louvered tail gate. There are custom spring latches on each side of the tailgate. In the bed is the custom radiator and fan enclosure as well as the custom fuel tank. The tank looks o.k. but there is quite a bit of warping from the welding process. When this was first done, there was no front sheet metal. only an empty grille shell and the headlight buckets (see photos). I am including these with the truck. There is no heater, and no side windows. One piece door glass would be pretty easy to do, but I wouldn't recommend doing it until after a set of door latch electric solenoids are installed.(It would really suck to get locked out! ) I have the left door window regulator but not the right . This is a pretty easy part to get .The wiring kit was from Mr. Roadster, and all the gauges are new. The Head/tail lights work, as well as the turn signals, brake lights, emergency flashers and interior lights. I am including all the spare pieces that I have, including the headlight housings , radiator shell, left door window regulator, one door glass mount, one original '40 ford headlight trim ring (ugly for a rat rod ) ,a good '39 radiator, a few different size coolant flow restrictors , some of the left over paint(not much but it may be enough to do the doors and some touch-up), and anything else I find related to the truck. I have this for sale locally, so I do reserve the right to end this early . The local price is 15,000 ,but this is NOT the reserve !!!The front fenders are rough, but totally repairable (if that's the way you want to go ).The front fill pieces are also roughed in , but could easily be body-worked. As with anything that sits around a shop for this long , there are many scratches and nicks. Mostly on the headers , front upper control arms, and upper front shock mounts. There is a small spot on the right rear fender where the clear and color has been rubbed through (see photo), and there are various minor imperfections in the paint. Over all, this truck is pretty---- cool! I may be willing to help with delivery in a relatively close area, like 500 miles ,BUT NOT FOR FREE!!! Contact Me before You count on this!!! The only trade/partial trade I'm interested in would be a '07 or newer 4-stroke Arctic Cat snowmobile. Feel free to ask questions, and please don't bid if You don't have the money to pay...Thanks for looking !
