Vehicle Detail
***NO RESERVE*** This 1967 Corvette is a very rare opportunity. It has full documentation and has been in dry storage since 1986 in Kansas. It was originally built in September of 1966 (Tank Sticker) and was purchased by me in 2013 and underwent a 18 month restoration to the point that it is now...GORGEOUS. This is the first time this car is being offered for sale and is going at NO RESERVE. I had hoped to keep it for Sunday cruising and Shows but we were blessed with a surprise pregnancy (#4) during the restoration (Due in January!) Regardless, this car is special for multiple reasons and although I will try to touch on the most important aspects of the car, the best way to cover everything pertinent to a buyer is to visit live - so PLEASE feel free to contact me and we can discuss this VIA telephone or email and the Corvette is completely accessible to any interested parties for visual inspection in Edmond, OK. The car was originally an Oklahoma car and then lived in Kansas - structurally it was fantastic! Extremely solid frame and the frame had no damage. It was like a time capsule. Some highlights of this Corvette's rarity: * Taken off of Kansas roads and stored in dry storage (as seen in pics) from 1986 - 2013 * Documentation to show under 45,000 original miles * TANK STICKER to show important (and RARE) options of: 1) L-79 motor (Highest horsepower 327 - 350 Horse)2) C60 - FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING! The car is further made rare due to the factory color combination of Ermine White with Red interior (Black top). There is also a fully restored hardtop that can go with the car (restored hardtop values hover around $4000) for an additional $2000 to the buyer. I was going to show it with its hardtop even though it wasn't an original option for this car. I was limited to 24 pictures so didn't get to post a picture of the hardtop, but it is restored to the same level as the car itself and is available to the Buyer AFTER the end of the auction. If the buyer doesn't opt for the hardtop it will be available for $4000 after car is sold. The pictures attached (there are many more pictures available) show the initial state of the car and also the level to which the restoration went to make it the incredible example that it has become. Some of the highlights of what was restored or replaced: 1) Complete interior (Including new top)2) Dash and wiring removed and restored so that it looks factory new and works as new. (Clock is working, too)3) Complete exterior bodywork and paint4) Completely new Chrome5) Period correct 327 was completely rebuilt and repainted while out. All hoses replaced - Motor is FRESH.6) Completely new exhaust7) Suspension completely gone through 8) Brake system completely new9) New wheels/tires (Wheels were stripped and powdercoated instead of left painted)10) Completely new AC box/heater core This list doesn't include the thousands of dollars that were spent on "small" parts - receipts available. This car has ~$70,000 worth of restoration from the last 18 months completed (NOT including the value of the car itself) To address the RARITY: In 1967, there were 22,940 Corvettes made. Of those, 14,436 were convertibles. 27.79% got the high-horse L79 motor which would give a number of ~4011 cars ONLY 16.51% got option C60 (AIR CONDITIONING) - which most experts assume the majority went to Coupes VS Convertibles. But even if 50/50 then ~2383 TOTAL AC Convertibles were built. White was a rare color at only 6.20% made (With Black interior being in half of those. The other half was suggested to be split between Red and Blue) so only ~223 WHITE/RED convertibles were made in 1967. To use those numbers (which are authentic due to multiple historians) then the number of 1967 White/Red Convertibles with an L79 would be 62 cars. Add in the AC option and that number decreases to 10 This car is conservatively only 1 of 10 cars produced with these DESIRABLE options (Unknown how many still exist) so it makes it 0.00044% of Chevrolet production for 1967. To find another Low mileage original with these great options that is documented through its own Tank Sticker that has been "lost" for 30 years is highly unlikely. These just don't come around often. I am starting the car out at the current going rate for a basic, average driver quality 1967 convertible ($50,000). I will let the public decide what the values are for a documented low mileage original with AC, 327/350 and Hardtop with a brand new, GORGEOUS restoration that looks as good on bottom as it does on top. I believe that the color combination (Which is the same as the FIRST corvettes in 1953) to be the absolute best combination for Midyears and the fact that it was so rarely built makes this more coveted. If you are an international buyer, we must agree on terms before you bid - otherwise this a US auction only. I am a 100% seller on eBay and have been on for over a decade. I am happy to help with transport coordination and the car will be stored in complete security until it is picked up. Clear title in hand ready for next owner. Please see the below videos that I uploaded onto YouTube. The first is a quick shot of it driving down the road so you can see it in action: http://youtu.be/FRaegrBP_zE The next is a few minutes ling but gives a video overview of the car: http://youtu.be/qk-EezEafwk Again, this is a NO RESERVE auction...I need to sell, so top bidder gets this exceptional Corvette. $1500 Deposit required. Please only bid if you are able to Purchase. On Oct-17-14 at 12:44:53 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE HIGHLIGHT AND COPY/PASTE THE LINKS FOR VIDEO INTO YOUR BROWSER IN ORDER TO WATCH BOTH VIDEOS - EBAY DOESN'T LET THE LINKS BE "LIVE" ALSO, THE VIN TAG AND TRIM TAG ARE BOTH PICTURED, THE CAR IS OLDER THAN 1981 SO THE EBAY SECTION FOR VIN WOULDN'T ACCEPT THE VIN FROM A 1967
