Vehicle Detail
1968 Buick Skylark 430 driverEmail me for a photobucket link containing 100+ pictures of the vehicle. Up for sale is my 1968 Buick Skylark 2 door. Originally a 350, it now has a 430 Buick big block out of a ’69 Riviera with 52,000 miles. The 430 is backed by a TH400 from the same Riv, and a BOP 8.2 2.56 posi rear. I bought this car from South Carolina. It is extremely solid. The car runs and drives great. It is not a show winner. I have a clear PA title for this car in my name. Body: Originally a K code aquamist car, it now sports a dark blue repaint. This car is the epitome of a 10 footer. There is 86,000 miles on the body. The paint shines very well, but does have flaws. There are some spots of surface rust on the trunk and hood. There is a pin hole on the front of the hood. The right quarter panel has a crease in it. Toward the bottom of the car there is some bubbling from previous body work on the left quarter and right door. Both bumpers are straight and shine very well, but the rear has a pin hole. All flaws are shown in the 100+ photos I have. All the trim is in nice shape, included in the sale is an extra grille surround. The grille is decent, but does have some amateur repairs. Absent from the pictures are the BUICK trunk letters, and trunk lock. They are both installed and look great! The pics are about two weeks old, but I didn’t have the letters installed for the photos. The wheels are ok, some rust and dull chrome. Drivetrain: As stated above. The engine is a 430 Buick out of a 69 Riviera. The big block conversion was done by me correctly with the right big block frame pads, motor mounts etc. It runs smooth and sounds great. The car drives nice and has a lot of power. It also has a 1969 GS dual snorkel air cleaner with chrome lid. The TH400 shifts smooth. It had a fluid change and new filter installed. The 8.2 2.56 posi has a new gasket and a fluid change. Listed below are new parts installed: New alternator New belts and hoses New points, distributor cap, and rotor New Spark plugs and wires New 2.5 inch Pypes pro street exhaust system and TA performance downpipes New fuel pump New water pump New timing chain Rebuilt 750 CFM quadrajet carburetor New battery Fresh oil and new filter New fuel lines Gas tank was professionally cleaned and painted I did a disc brake swap on it with everything coming from a ’72 skylark. It has new pads and rotors along with new wheel cylinders, and shoes in the rear. Interior: New carpet and headliner, (the headliner was installed a day after the pictures were taken, I can send new pictures of it to those interested) the front and rear seats are in okay shape. The top of the rear is sun baked and cracked. The car has a 15 inch rally steering wheel. Radio delete plate. New glove box liner. Overall this car is a great driver ready for a new owner. I spent a lot of hours getting it road ready and it is a blast to drive. I encourage anyone interested to come check out the car in person, but please no joy riders. Please email me any questions you have or if you need more pictures. I reserve the right to end the auction early. A $500 non refundable deposit is due 48 hours after the auction ends. *NOTE* absent from pics are the BUICK trunk letters, and the trunk lock. Both were installed a week after pics were taken, when the car returned from getting the new headliner installed.*
