Vehicle Detail
A true, rust free, California truck is what you are bidding on (see the attached title pic, just converted). This is truly a rare truck that you don't see everyday. This is a great opportunity for you to get a head start on your project by not having to combat the rust issues that most of these trucks will have, especially on the east coast! Aside from very little surface rust, this truck is absolutely rust free. No rust whatsoever on any of the door sills, rockers, cab corners etc. underneath shows the original pans without modification. No cheap metal add-ins or pop rivets. The odometer has rolled over, but it definitely has not rolled twice and shows 17k currently. I'm judging this by the pedals, and overall condition. One look and anyone will agree. I have put approximately 1000 miles on it since I've had it. Mainly driving on errands and drove it a few hours round trip to Maryland and back. It runs great, stops and steers straight and doesn't smoke. It can be driven as is, right now with no fixes! Based on my experience with old Fords, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I have not had the truck long. I had it shipped from California, but have since acquired a project that I'm more interested in. I don't have the storage for both. The only things I have done so far are changed the oil, replaced a few bulbs in the cluster and shimmed the starter. Here are items that would be on my fix list first: Heater is inop (haven't looked into it) Driver's rear window inop (stuck up) Passenger rear door seal is missing (rattles over bumps) Has exhaust leak. (I don't like the exhaust so I would replace it entirely) Don't like the towing mirrors. Dislike the unoriginal exterior paint. The inside is original, but outside has been matched poorly. These are all easy fixes as one would expect with an old truck. Nothing that affect drive-ability. The motor is sound and runs strong. The trans shift great. I encourage anyone to come look at it, inside, out underneath, drive it! You would be hard pressed to find a more original rust free truck and I think it's unlikely that you would find a crew cab that has been as well maintained. I will answer any questions as I'm able to. I work nights, very long hours and most weekends too. In other words, if I don't get back to you immediately, I'm probably just trying to catch up on sleep. If you're local, we can setup a time to check it out. Please don't write with low-ball offers! I'm not really interested in trades. Don't bid if you don't want to buy it, don't kick the tires if you haven't seen it.
